Melting Witch Bark Fun and Festive!


Simple and sweet melted witch bark is so cute and festive. It’s perfect for party events and tastes delicious!

I love easy Halloween treats like chocolate pudding spider pie, worm fudge jelly cups and gooey monster cookies that are not only fun to make but delicious too! Melted witch bark is one of those fun and edible Halloween crafts that everyone will love!

Everyone knows the classic scene from The Wizard of Oz where the evil witch of the West pours a bucket of water on her and screams “I’m going to melt!!”. This melted witch bark reminds me of that. 😉

This is a great recipe to make for a Halloween party as it makes for a personalized treat. You can use them as party crafts/activities (my kids love helping make these!), or wrap them up as party favors.

No matter how you decide to make and use them, everyone will be impressed with these cute little treats!

how to make them

Prepare. First line the cookie sheet with parchment paper. Have pretzel sticks, Reese’s, Oreos, Hugs, mini chips at the ready so they’re easily accessible.

Melting witch. Melt 1 cup candy in a small saucepan, stirring constantly over low heat to melt. Once all the spoons are melted onto the parchment, spread out into a circle. The ones we make are about 4 inches in diameter. Quickly add the remaining mini chips to the small pot, stirring constantly over low heat to melt. Spoon a little onto your green circle and swirl with a toothpick.

witch hat. Add Oreos in the corners as hats. Dip in excess melted chocolate and add to the top of the Oreos, topping with hugs. Add mini chips for the eyes.

witch broom. Glue the pretzels in your mini Reese and place on the other side of the Oreo.

Variety

This witch bark is easy to make with simple ingredients. However, you can always change things up a bit. Here are some delicious and fun ideas:

shop This should keep for about a week on the counter or in the refrigerator at room temperature. Separate layers with waxed parchment.

arrive freeze This you’ll want to set it up in the freezer, then place the pieces between parchment paper and in a freezer safe container/bag for up to 6 months. Let it thaw in the fridge and eat! (pretzel sticks are best omitted when freezing)
