Brunch at Señor Pico, Palm West Beach, Palm Jumeirah

There is a new Saturday brunch in town, located in Señor Pico, a hidden gem in Palm West Beach. Introducing the vibrant El Pico brunch on the eye-catching Palm Jumeirah.

The Mexican venue is a favorite of many fans (including ourselves), and recently celebrated its one-year anniversary with its rich snacks, cool concoctions and stunning views of Dubai Marina, JBR and Al Ain Dubai. The interesting fact is that the first Señor Pico opened in San Francisco in 1964 many years ago.

Emphasize:

The brunch menu is a steady wave of Mexican delicacies, mouth-watering, appearing on your table at the right time. Appetizers include small barrels of nachos with chunks of guacamole, homemade chili salsa and cheese sauce; refreshing, rich mango salad; and the star of the show, broccoli frita, a sharing-style crispy broccoli florets topped with cream Sauce.

Antojitos or appetizers, followed by Taquitos de papa, mushroom cheese empanadas and tuna ceviche. Ceviche took center stage in this round, bite-sized tuna perfectly blended with refreshing citrus soda.

One thing that impressed us at Señor Pico is its employees. We never left empty plates or glasses. The fast and helpful service is a refreshing addition to the Dubai brunch.

When we finish the first two courses, we need to take a break before the power supply. Two rounds of signature creative condiments accompany us, while we are waiting for food and the sun to go down.

After our liquid course, we turned our attention back to the main power source. You can choose chicken or shrimp tacos with beef, zucchini or mushroom tortillas. We chose one of them. The soft tacos are in perfect proportions—two bites are delicious, which brings a complete end to the leisurely lunch; while the generous beef sausage quesadilla has a spice flavor.

At this stage, we are in a food coma, ready to take a nap. However, the staff will not let us leave until we see the dessert experience. We are glad we stayed.

The lineup includes a choice between fried dough sticks, Tres leches cakes, caramel tarts and mini popsicles. We went to Churros and Tres leches cakes. The classic cake is moist, full-bodied and not too sweet; Churros is exactly what one would expect from a Mexican-style venue: delightful.

judgment:

A vibrant place with delicious Mexican snacks, strong drinks, friendly staff and talented DJs and violinists, the sunset on the beach is the cherry on top.
