simple apple cobbler
This easy apple cobbler makes me so happy. It’s the most delicious dessert at the best time of year – fall.
Fall is the best or what? Making warm desserts is best when the weather outside gets a little cooler. Speaking of crisp, this apple pie is just that! Crunchy toppings pair perfectly with soft golden apples. We all think this is the easiest and best apple pie recipe we’ve ever tried! !
The spices in this cobbler give it a warm and cozy feel that changes with the seasons. The flavor combination of cinnamon and apple is mouthwatering. I guarantee you’ll go crazy for this apple pie dessert. Anyone trying this dessert will love it. I mean, what’s not to love a warm gooey apple topped with sugar and butter?
How to Make an Apple Cobbler
Another great thing about this cobbler is that it’s easy to make. It’s the perfect substitute for apple pie when you don’t have time to make a homemade pie crust. The crumble is so delicious, you won’t even miss the pie crust. 😉
You will need about 7-8 large pie cooking apples.
What apples do you use for apple pie? We prefer Granny Smith, but these other apples work great too!
- honey crisp
- golden crown
Peel and cut them 1/4 inch thick. This will make about 9 cups of apple slices. Place apples in an ungreased 9×13-inch baking pan.
In a separate small bowl, combine sugar and ½ teaspoon cinnamon.
Apple Cobbler Crushed
The crumbled noodles are the best part, right? Here are the toppings you’ll need for apple pie crumble:
- baking powder
This is how you do it. Combine remaining cinnamon, sugar, eggs, flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Mix until you get coarse breadcrumbs. Spread this mixture evenly over the apples. Melt 2/3 cup butter and pour it over the entire dish. Place it in a 350 degree oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, until the top is lightly browned and the apples are soft.
Serve this baby warmly. I love it fresh out of the oven, along with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. Actually, I also like it cold. or warm temperatures. Basically I can eat this dessert anytime anywhere at any temperature.
Do apple tarts need to be refrigerated?
This is what we do! We cover and store in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
How to reheat apple pie?
Place the frozen cobbler in the oven and bake at 375 degrees for about 25 minutes or so.
What is the difference between cobbler and crispy?
Cobblers usually have more dough or cookie toppings, while chips have more toppings, often including oats (check out our Apple Crisp recipe).
