Who’s excited about the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening? !
Not only is it the biggest expansion at Disneyland, but it’s definitely the place to be this year, especially if you’re a Star Wars fan. With fun rides, delicious food, amazing merchandise, and more, it’ll be the park’s new hot spot as you’ll be transported to the planet Batuu, home to Blacktip Outpost.
Galaxy’s Edge will open at Disneyland California on May 31, 2019 and at Walt Disney World in Florida on August 29, 2019.
Information to note:
- Fastpass and Max Pass are not available at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge attractions.
- For Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, there are no alternate lines. To be able to ride, you must be in the park to get a boarding pass. This is done through the Disneyland app or through two physical locations within the park.

There will be two rides on this new land, with Millenium Falcon: Smugglers Run open immediately. The second ride, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, will open later this year.
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Escape
This ship is the fastest ship in the galaxy. You’ll be able to ride in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon, jump into hyperspace on your own Star Wars adventure, and face danger along the way.
Be assigned as a pilot, shooter or engineer on this fun journey.
- Height Requirement – 38″ (89cm) or higher

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – Open now! !
The ride has been billed as one of the most advanced experiences ever created by Walt Disney Imagineering. It’s an amazing battle that guests can engage in in their battle against the First Order.
- Height Requirement – 40 inches (102 cm) or higher
Note: A boarding pass is required to ride this ride. Once inside the park, you can get a boarding pass through the Disneyland app or through two physical locations within the park. Your boarding pass will tell you when to go back to the ride so you don’t have to wait in line all day.

Experience
From building your own lightsaber to droids, there are some great experiences in Star Wars Land. Be sure to check them out for an amazing Star Wars experience!
Savi’s Workshop – Handcrafted Lightsaber – This is a studio with many parts and collectibles from all over the galaxy. As a guest, you can customize your own lightsaber and bring it to life through the power of kyber crystals.
You can choose from different themes:
- peace and justice
- Power and Control
- element properties
- protection and defense
After customizing your lightsaber (requires purchase), you can take it with you to protect yourself and your friends throughout Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Robot Warehouse – Who always wanted a robot? Well…this is your dream come true! You will be able to customize your own buddy with different parts, chips and manuals to create your own robot. This will be an experience you will never forget!
- There are model kits, prefab robots and accessories for guests to take with them.
- Please note: Custom Astromech units are not eligible for annual pass holder discounts.
Food, Dining and Beverages
Part of all the fun in Disney’s new land is all the new food! If you’re a foodie like me, then you’ll want to check out some great new things you can enjoy at Galaxy’s Edge.
Oga’s Cantina – If you’ve always wanted to be a part of Star Wars’ infamous watering hole, Oga’s Bistro is where you should sit and relax and enjoy the music provided by former Starspeeder pilot DJR-3X.
- Drinks, food, snacks and alcohol mixes for kids are all available!

Docking Bay 7 Food and Goods – Galaxy Grubs will be available in this docking area. From entrees to drinks to desserts, there is food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Milk Rack – If you’re a Luke Skywalker fan, you know he drinks the famous blue and green milk. So now, it’s time to treat yourself to these exotic galactic drinks.
Ronto Roasters – If you like grilled meat, then this is the place to eat. The meat is grilled to perfection and will help you get ready for your next mission.

Kat Saka’s Kettle – At this snack bar, you can find different grains for the entire galaxy. The best part of this store is the specialty popcorn you can enjoy while traveling in Star Wars; Galaxy’s Edge. Refreshing drinks are also sold here.

Galaxy Store
Besides the rides and food, you can’t forget all the shopping. There will be so many amazing items, and we have a feeling you’re going to want to get it all.
Dok-Ondar’s Lair of Antiquities – In this store you will be able to find hidden treasures from all over the galaxy. Dok-Ondar is mysterious, almost mysterious, and no one knows where he collected all the treasures.

- Rare Kyber Crystal

- famous lightsaber

Bio booth – Find your unique Star Wars creature here!
Black Spire Outfitters – This store offers stylish casual clothing and apparel perfect for your space or casual travel.
Robes or casual attire— This is a great store to buy your Star Wars gear and clothing. If you’re looking for a robe or casual attire that blends in with the locals, this is the place for you.
First batch of the stock– Want to join the First Order?Then head to Docking Bay 9 and get all the gear you need to show your support for First Order
Resistor Supply – This is the Resistance, stock up on your gear to defeat the First Order. This is a secret post so they can be prepared to fight the First Order.
