Quick + easy cinnamon rolls (+video)

A delicious one-hour cinnamon roll with homemade cream cheese frosting. These rolls are very soft and can be quickly made into mouth-watering cinnamon delicacies, which are delicious on any morning or holiday.

They are produced all year round, but are especially suitable for holidays. Whether you make breakfast or brunch, this recipe will be very popular, just like our mini cinnamon rolls and cinnamon roll cakes.

Simple cinnamon rolls-made in 1 hour!

My whole family is fascinated by cinnamon rolls (trust me-we have a recipe for cinnamon roll cakes on the website, cinnamon roll waffles-the list goes on!)

This may be because my mother has been doing them since I can remember. Recently, she decided to try a faster version. She did some research and thinks that your family mom’s recipe looks the best. I assure her that any work by Leigh Anne will be extraordinary.

My mother tried this recipe while we were on vacation and the whole family loved it. These rolls are soft and sweet, and taste as good as the regular version she has made over the years, but-they were done in an hour!

We did change a few things and added more butter and sugar (more butter and sugar can’t go wrong, right?!) We also added some cream cheese to the frosting and bake it at a lower temperature Bake for more time.

The results are amazing, you better believe that we will make these again!

Ingredients for cinnamon rolls

Dough, fillings, and icing-a lot of ingredients are needed to make this recipe, but they are all things the typical baker has on hand. Here are the items needed to make these homemade cinnamon rolls:

  • water
  • cheese
  • sugar
  • butter
  • Active dry yeast
  • Salt
  • Egg
  • flour
  • brown sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Powdered sugar
  • Cream cheese
  • vanilla
  • milk

Note: Make sure that the active dry yeast is fresh. When the yeast gets old, it doesn’t work well, and your cinnamon rolls won’t become light and fluffy. 😉

How to make simple cinnamon rolls

If you don’t have experience with large amounts of yeast-don’t worry! I only started baking with yeast a few years ago. Although it is daunting, it is easy to use.

You just need to follow the instructions. Remember, these are easy and can be done in an hour. Just follow these simple steps to make these homemade cinnamon rolls.

mix. In a bowl, mix together water, buttermilk, sugar, melted butter, and yeast. Allow to sit for 15 minutes…

rest. Add salt, eggs, and flour (for flour, be sure to top it up with a spoon, starting with 4.5 cups-you want the dough to become sticky). Mix for 10 minutes, then let stand for 10 minutes.

filling. Mix the melted butter, brown sugar, sugar and cinnamon together to prepare the filling. Set aside.

roll out. On a floured surface, roll the dough into a 12 x 16 inch rectangle.

Scroll + cut. Spread your fillings on top and roll them up. Cut into 12 large rolls (or 18 small rolls).

bake. Place the rolls in a large greased baking pan or jelly roll pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

frostWhen baking, mix the frosting ingredients together. Spread on hot rolls, and then spread a layer of icing sugar after cooling. Please enjoy!

We love how simple this recipe is! They earnestly made the best cinnamon rolls! !

Quick Cinnamon Roll FAQ

For some reason, many people tend to think that cinnamon rolls are intimidating. I thought so myself before, but now I realize how easy they are to make-especially with this recipe. Here are some notes, tips, and FAQs to help you make these.

How do you make slimy cinnamon rolls? We added more fillings to this recipe to make it stickier (if you want it to be less sticky, change the brown sugar and sugar to œ cup respectively).

We also include a lot of frosting, which helps to make them super viscous! If you prefer less frosting, you can change the amount to: ⅓ cup butter, 2 cups powdered sugar, 3 ounces. Cream cheese, 1 teaspoon vanilla and milk. 😉

Which flour is best for this recipe? All-purpose flour is suitable for this recipe, but bread flour works best. It makes the rolls super soft, which adds the stickiness and flavor that we really like in this recipe.

Storage + freezing? Place the cinnamon rolls on a plate and cover tightly with plastic wrap or foil. Or put it in a sealed container. They should be stored at room temperature for 2-3 days.

You can freeze unfrosted rolls. Just let them thaw overnight and then heat them in the oven for a few minutes before frosting. You can also freeze them. Just chill, cover and wrap in a freezer safety bag to freeze.

Have you ever seen a picture of food and just wish you had one in front of you-in real life? ! This is what I think of these bad boys. As you can see, we don’t like to be stingy on icing. Coating these rolls with irresistible cream cheese frosting makes them even more addictive!
