Oreo Skin Frozen Mud Cake Recipe

Oreo Skin Frozen Mud Cake Recipe

This mud cake only takes a few minutes, but it is simply a work of God. With cookie crumb crust, cream ice cream, hot fudge and whipped cream, it is the perfect summer dessert!

There are two things I like about this dessert: chocolate flavor, cool and refreshing. Suitable for hot summer days! It reminds me of Oreo ice cream cake and frozen peanut butter pie-both are my favorite frozen chocolate desserts!

Who likes chocolate? !

Sometimes the simplest dessert is the best, and this delicious pie is definitely the case. And because it is frozen, you can make it in advance, so it is suitable for any occasion!

Traditional mud cakes require coffee ice cream, but you can use any flavor you like. This recipe also requires chocolate, usually on the crust and top, so it is perfect for chocolate lovers.

I made mine with chocolate malt ice cream and it was great. I also make it with cookies and cream ice cream. Feel free to be creative and customize with your favorite ice cream.

How to make mud cakes

Crispy. Dessert is nothing easier than this recipe. You start with the chocolate chip cookie crumb crust. I like to mix Oreo crumbs with butter and press them into the pie pan.

bake. I just use my fingers, but you can use a water cup or measuring cup to firmly press the crumbs on the sides of the pan. Bake for 8-10 minutes.

ice cream. After your crust is baked and completely cooled, put it in the refrigerator for a few minutes. Take out your ice cream and let it soften. I like to scoop mine into a cake pan and mix it with a pastry knife or potato masher until it becomes nice and soft. Spread it in your crust with the back of a spoon.

freeze. Cover the pie with plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator. Let it freeze for at least four hours, but overnight is better. When you are ready to serve, drizzle the chocolate sauce on the pie. You can use the store bought, but I used my simple homemade hot fudge sauce recipe. Garnish with whipped cream and crumbled Oreo crumbs.

Ingredients. After drizzling the chocolate sauce, you can spread the whipped cream on the whole pie, but I like to add the sauce, whipped cream and cookie crumbs to each slice of the pie. I just think that is more beautiful.

But trust me, knowing that no matter how you serve this pie, your guests will be in heaven. Every bite is very delicious. The creamy ice cream with a crunchy chocolate crust is the perfect combination of flavor and texture. Everyone likes this frozen food!

Variety

Mud cake is essentially a chocolate dessert. However, you can change the shell, ice cream or toppings at any time to make it any flavor you like! Here are some ideas.

Ice cream flavor:

  • vanilla
  • Strawberry
  • Cookies
  • Mint
  • Oreo

Crust options:

  • Regular or chocolate graham crackers
  • Golden Oreo or Peppermint Oreo
  • Sandy Cookies

Toppings: (Match the toppings to the ice cream flavor of your choice!)

  • fruit
  • Chopped candy bars: Kit Kat, Reeses, Snickers, Butterfinger, Almond Hershey Bar, Toffee Bar
  • Light rain

Topping and storage

Extra toppings: Of course, you will never be restricted when it comes to toppings. You can do it yourself! Here are more suggestions for toppings you might include in classic mud cakes.

  • Mini chocolate chips
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Mini marshmallows
  • nut
  • Caramel sauce

store: Because the basis of this Oreo mud pie is ice cream, you need to store it in the refrigerator. Cover with plastic wrap or tin foil before freezing. Take it out a few minutes before serving and let it soften.

How long can the mud cakes be kept? If you don’t plan to eat the entire pie at once, I suggest you only put toppings on each slice, because the pie will stay in its best condition without any toppings. If stored properly, the pie can be kept in the refrigerator for 4-6 months.
