Who loves a good salad here? I especially love trying salads with delicious dressings. It’s always nice to have ranch and Thousand Island dressings on hand, but there’s nothing like homemade dressing for the salad you’re eating.

My favorite restaurant salads have special dressings, including Cheesecake Factory’s Luau Salad or Applebee’s’ Oriental Salad.

Today’s Lemon Poppy Seed Salad recipe is a new favorite because not only does it have a delicious lemon poppy seed dressing, but it’s packed with flavor and savory ingredients — making it a go-to.

The salad itself is great with delicious ingredients, but if you don’t like chicken, don’t eat it. We love that poultry makes it more hearty, but it can definitely be customized to your favorites.

Only 4 ingredients!

This Lemony Poppy Seed Dressing goes well with countless salads and is easy to keep on hand because it only requires 4 simple ingredients!

  • Mayo
  • lemon juice
  • sugar
  • poppy seeds

All you have to do is toss the four ingredients together and refrigerate until you’re ready to serve with the salad. You can keep it in the refrigerator for up to 10 days in an airtight container.

Dressing changes and adjustments:

  • Mayo: use light mayo
  • sugar: Use turn or honey. You can also halve the amount of sugar and add more to your taste.
  • Lemon Juice: You can decide whether to use freshly squeezed lemon juice or store-bought refrigerated lemon juice.

Choose your own salad mix

Costco has salad kits that include salad mix, craisins, and sunflower seeds. We just used our own seasoning and added tomatoes and chicken. 😉

Of course, you can always make a fresh salad with the same produce and chop it up yourself. No matter what salad you use, the dressing will taste great!

Change salad ingredients: Use a coleslaw mix, strawberry and almond spinach, or even a tropical salad made with pineapple, orange, coconut, and apple.

If you love salads as much as we do, then I recommend you try this. Poppy seed dressing is great and can be done in just a few minutes!
