Lemon Sugar Cookies with Lemon Butter Frosting

Soft Lemon Sugar Cookies
If you like lemon desserts, I have prepared the perfect cookies for you! I adapted my favorite sugar cookie recipe into today’s lemon sugar cookie recipe.
I am a big fan of any lemon and I am very excited about the results of these cookies. For those who like lemons, they are the perfect biscuits. With such soft cookies and delicious lemon frosting, it’s hard not to love them.
One thing I like about these cookies is that you don’t have to roll them out with a rolling pin. No, it’s not troublesome at all. Just roll them into a ball and place them on a cookie sheet lined with grease or silicone.
How to make lemon sugar cookies
Without scrolling, these cookies are simple! ! Here are the things you need to do:
Wet ingredients. Cream butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Add eggs, lemon juice and lemon zest, and mix well.
Dry. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt.

Lemon butter frosting + more additions
After baking and cooling, you can put delicious lemon butter frosting on top.
I used a star tip to apply my frosting, and they turned out to be beautiful, don’t you think? But of course you can use a knife to spread the frosting on it, they still taste incredible!
To make it, simply stir the butter, powdered sugar, salt, lemon zest, and lemon juice until creamy, and add milk if needed. If you are piping the frosting, it needs to be very thick. If you just apply it, you can add more liquid.
Beautiful and delicious additives: These cookies are delicious, but if you want to change them, I have some ideas:
- Add poppy seeds to the dough
- Put fresh raspberries on the frosting
- Pour white chocolate on the biscuits, then sprinkle icing sugar on top
- Sprinkle chopped macadamia nuts or almonds on top
How to save + tips
