I am very happy that this recipe (it is so simple, almost not a recipe at all!) in my life. Put these in the crockpot for 2-4 hours (depending on the heating setting), then serve lunch/dinner.
You can even put hot dogs in a warm slow cooker until ready to eat. Then everyone can help themselves when it’s time to eat. Just make sure to close the lid to keep the heat in.
How to cook hot dogs in a crock
Unpack the hot dogs and place them in a slow cooker. Cover the slow cooker with a lid and cook for 2 hours at high temperature or 3-4 hours at low temperature. Keep the slow cooker warm to keep the hot dogs warm at the party.
notes: No need to add water! The water released by the hot dog is sufficient. After cooking, turn the crock pot to warm to avoid overcooking the hot dog. They should be able to store in a warm environment for about 3 hours.

For the crowd: Cooking these in a crock pot is ideal for any gathering.
- Plan 1-2 hot dogs for children and 3 for each adult.
- When placed vertically, a 4-quart crock can hold approximately 48 hot dogs of regular length. A 6-quart pot should hold about 64 regular-length hot dogs.
- Bun length: If you want to use bun length and your clay pot is not high enough, just lay them horizontally.
Store: The unopened hot dog package can be stored in the refrigerator (see expiry date on the package) or in the refrigerator for up to 6 months. After opening the package, put the remaining hot dogs in a sealed bag and put it in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
The remaining cooked hot dogs can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for 3-4 days, or in the refrigerator for up to 2 months.
