Hot ham and cheese rolls are the perfect quick and easy weeknight dinner item. I like to serve them something simple like cheesy zucchini or crispy baked sweet potato fries. They are always a hit with the kids! !

Kid-Friendly Ham and Cheese Crescent Rolls

When life is crazy busy, I like to rely on some of my favorite fast food recipes that all kids will love. One of those recipes is these Hot Ham and Cheese Rolls.

My kids have always loved ham and cheese, so I thought adding them to crescent rolls (another thing they would love) would be a hit. Luckily, I was right (once) and everyone loves these easy rolls. In fact, I didn’t even make enough money. I thought 2 per child would be enough, but they were all devoured in no time!

These were so soft, delicious, and loved by the entire staff, which means we’ll definitely be making them again. This time, we used ham and American cheese, but I’m going to try other meat+cheese combinations! I think it might be Turkey and Switzerland next time.

How to Make a Ham and Cheese Roll

gather. Place the crescent triangles on the cookie sheet and add 2 slices of ham and 1 cheese to each crescent.

roll. Roll up each crescent and place them seam-down on the sheet. Spray the rolled top with butter spray – it’s totally optional! If you don’t have butter spray, you can brush/scoop some melted butter on it.

bake. Bake at 375° for 11-12 minutes.

Serve. Sprinkle grated Parmesan on top before serving (again, totally optional!) and enjoy!

this recipe is great appetizer Or a simple kid-friendly dinner. As mentioned, I think 2 dinners per person is enough, but I should plan for 3-4 dinners per person. I think 2 would be enough if served as an appetizer for other dishes.

Variety:

  • dip BBQ sauce or Dijon mustard
  • brush the dough Add yellow mustard or Dijon mustard before adding ham and cheese
  • brush tops Garlic salt sprinkled with butter before baking
  • sprinkle on top Add Italian seasoning or parsley before baking

These are easy to assemble and bake, and I recommend making them just before serving as they also taste best when fresh from the oven.However, if desired, you can bake ahead and store them in the refrigerator or freezer. *see leftovers* Thaw before reheating in the oven or microwave.

  • 12 oz crescent rolls refrigerated
  • 16 slices of ham
  • 4 slices of cheese cut in half
  • butter spray (optional)
  • grated parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Preheat oven to 375.
