Marshmallow. Take the cake out of the oven and sprinkle marshmallows on the cake to completely cover it. Return to the oven (350 degrees Fahrenheit) and bake for 2-3 minutes, or until the marshmallows puff and melt slightly.

Matte: Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Add milk and cocoa powder and mix well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens slightly. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and powdered sugar. Use an electric mixer to smooth the frosting.

drizzle. Immediately drizzle with warm icing cool down cake.

chill. Refrigerate the cake for about 30 minutes or until the frosting is set.

Recipe tips:

  • Our recipe should not be too sticky, it may be moist due to frosting, but if you use mini marshmallows, they should not fall apart and become super messy.
  • If you don’t have mini marshmallows, you can use kitchen scissors to cut off the large marshmallows. You can also use marshmallow sauce, but this is definitely more sticky.
  • Pour the frosting evenly, not forgetting the edges, so that the underside of the cake can also get wet.
  • If you want to add some crunchiness, you can add chopped pecans, walnuts, almonds, peanuts
  • Add chocolate chips to make it more chocolatey

collect

Storage: You should be able to store it at room temperature, as long as it is tightly covered, it will not dry out. If you want to cover it well, it is also good to put it in the refrigerator, especially in summer.

freeze: You can freeze this delicious cake for later use. Let it cool in the refrigerator for several hours before freezing. Wrap tightly with plastic wrap, wrap horizontally with foil, and freeze for 1-2 months. Before serving, be sure to let it thaw for about an hour.
