Easy Homemade Chocolate Muffins

Easy Homemade Chocolate Muffins

The fluffy and airy muffins are dotted with milk chocolate chips, making them a delicious breakfast, treat or snack. Children especially love helping to make (and eat!) these simple homemade chocolate muffins!

I like to make a batch of muffins from time to time and keep them on hand as a quick breakfast or snack. Kids love these chocolate muffins, but they will eat blueberry muffins, lemon poppy seed muffins and banana crumb muffins at the same speed!

Eat as soon as possible

I like to take children into the kitchen so they can learn to cook and bake. I hope that when they grow up, it will instill a love for craftsmanship. Now, one of my favorite things to do in the kitchen is to let all the children gather on the island and enjoy the food together.

A few weeks ago, Gavin and Evie said they wanted to make desserts, so we made some homemade chocolate muffins (we are obsessed with everything about chocolate). It was a cold and rainy day, so these muffins were the highlight of the dark and gloomy weather. We have been making classic chocolate chip cookies, so it is good to change it and make muffins.

Muffins are made as fast as they are-soft and moist, definitely another breeder recipe!

How to make chocolate muffins

This is a good recipe for kids to help, because it’s really simple.

mix. Combine flour, brown sugar, sugar, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl. Stir well. In another bowl, whisk together milk, butter, eggs, and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Fold the chocolate chips.

bake. Use a spoon to pour into a muffin tin with a cupcake liner. Fill them to about ⅔ full. Sprinkle sugar on top and bake for 16-18 minutes.

tip: Before baking, sprinkle some extra chocolate chips and sugar on top-this will make the muffins look more beautiful when they come out of the oven! Children especially like to help complete this step.

Tips + storage tips

No wet muffins! To prevent the muffins from getting wet during storage, place a paper towel at the bottom of the storage container and another paper towel on the top of the muffin to absorb excess water.

You can store the container at room temperature for 2-3 days or in the refrigerator for 5-7 days.

Frozen muffins. Once the chocolate muffins have cooled completely, quickly freeze them on the baking sheet until they are slightly hardened. Then, transfer them to a freezer bag or storage container and store them in the refrigerator for several months.

Before swallowing, let us thaw on the counter overnight.

I have made many muffins and cupcakes before, but I have never made a chocolate muffin recipe! ! Crazy, I know, but we like this, which means we will make it more often. 😉
