Hello again! I’m Alicia from Baker Upstairs and I have a great dessert recipe to share with you today.

This chocolate lava cake is one of my favorite desserts! It’s easy to make, delicious and ready to eat in about thirty minutes. This is a chocolate lover’s dream!

One of my favorite ways to spend some time at home is to put the kids to bed early and make a delicious dessert for the two of us. We laugh, talk, and reminisce about old stories together, an easy and sweet way to unwind after a busy day.

These Chocolate Lava Cakes are perfect for a date night at home! They’re quick to make and only have six ingredients (which I almost always have on hand). My husband absolutely loves them, they make an ordinary night extra special!

How to Make Lava Cake

As I mentioned, this recipe only requires 6 ingredients! ! From making the batter, it’s so easy you don’t even need a mixer!

Prepare. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Spray four 6-ounce ramekins with cooking spray and place on a baking sheet.

chocolate. Add butter and chocolate to a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for a minute or until the butter is melted. Remove the bowl from the microwave and stir until the chocolate is completely melted.

notes. The mixture will be thick, almost like icing.

batter. Add the powdered sugar and beat until combined, then add the eggs, egg yolks, and vanilla and beat until smooth. Add flour and stir until combined. Divide the batter evenly between the ramekins.

bake. Bake for 13 minutes, then remove from oven and let rest 5-10 minutes. Run a plastic knife around the edge of each cake to remove it from the ramekins and pour onto a plate.

Serve. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve hot.

Recipe Tips

cake party Expand in the oven, but flatten out a little or even sink a bit as they cool.this is a good idea Let them sit for 5-10 minutes So the melted middle portion can thicken slightly and then cool down.

These Chocolate Lava Cakes are definitely Best when they’re warm and sticky, but if you want to make it ahead of time, you can reheat in the microwave for a minute or so until the middle melts again.

If the cake doesn’t melt in the middle This means you’ve overcooked the cake! Next time wait until the edges are just set and the middle is still soft and wobbly.

We strongly recommend use ramekins! It helps give it the perfect cake shape and helps with most of the baking and allows the outside to bake well and the center to stay melted.
