Delicious Candied Sweet Potatoes – an easy and delicious side dish that will be a family favorite! Soft sweet potatoes are mixed with butter, brown sugar, water, salt and pepper.

It’s hard to deny these sweet and savory sweet potatoes glazed with butter and brown sugar. They’re one of our go-to side dishes for the holidays and parties, and they’re quick and easy (similar to our Candied Carrots and Glazed Sweet Potatoes).

Did I mention how I’ve become addicted to sweet potatoes lately? It’s more of a newfound love, but right now we’re trying every sweet potato recipe like sweet potato cubes, sweet potato soup, and twice baked sweet potatoes. Everything is so good!

With this new love for sweet potatoes, we want candy just like we do with glazed carrots. We’re so glad we tried it because it’s the best candied sweet potato recipe ever. It seriously takes them to a whole new level!

This side dish is easy and a great addition to any dinner recipe or holiday meal.

How to Make Candied Sweet Potatoes

Only a few ingredients are needed for this recipe, including:

  • 2-3 sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into rounds
  • 2-3 tablespoons butter
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • Âœ cup water
  • salt and pepper

To make candied sweet potatoes, first add all the ingredients to a saucepan and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low and simmer without stirring for 10-15 minutes. Cook on low for another 3-5 minutes, stirring until the potatoes are well coated.

Can these be changed to cubes? Yes! Just cut into œ-inch cubes. You can also cut them into sticks.

Store + Freeze Glazed Sweet Potatoes

put in an airtight container and shop 3-4 days in the refrigerator. Reheat in the microwave, or you can add back to the pot and reheat by adding a little butter and cooking until heated through.

if you want freeze Let them cool completely, then place in a freezer-safe Ziploc bag for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator, adding a little butter on the stove top or reheating in the microwave if needed.
