Delicious combination-broccoli + cheese

Casserole dishes are the ultimate dinner recipe, and frankly, they don’t have enough trust. They are usually full of vegetables, protein and other simple ingredients, and they combine to create amazing flavors! This casserole has one of my favorite flavor combinations: broccoli + cheese!

If you have been following it for a while, you may have seen my broccoli cheese soup or even broccoli braids (cheese of course!). Well, this broccoli cheese casserole has all the same flavors of broccoli and cheese, plus a delicious crumbled Liz cracker top. (good to eat)

Even my most picky diners will eat this casserole, which is hardly disturbed by vegetables. I mean, it might be because it was suffocated by cheese, but hey… at least they are eating vegetables. 😉

Changing thoughts

Here are some ways to change this situation…

  • Add 1-2 c cooked white rice to the broccoli mixture
  • Add 1-2 c cooked shredded chicken or diced chicken to the broccoli mixture
  • Use cauliflower instead of broccoli
  • Panko breadcrumbs and extra butter can be used in place of Liz biscuits
  • Add chopped mushrooms
  • Add chopped onions or green onions
  • Use fresh broccoli florets (bleached)

Storage Tips + Tips

Can you make this in advance? Yes! Assemble all biscuits except Ritz biscuits. Close the lid and store in the refrigerator for 1-2 days. Prepare the freezer compartment to wrap it in plastic wrap, and then wrap it in aluminum foil. Label and freeze for up to 3 months.
