Amish Friendship Bread No appetizer required! + Video

The soft and fluffy Amish Friendship Bread is covered with an irresistible mixture of cinnamon sugar. You can make this with buttermilk without an appetizer!

Amish Friendship Bread requires only a few ingredients and 10-15 minutes of preparation time! I don’t know you, but this is my recipe. Bisquick Banana Bread, Lemon Poppy Seed Bread and Blueberry Bread are some of our favorite sweet breads!

What is friendship bread?

A long time ago, a friend gave me a bag of batter and told me to obey the rules—knead it, add things to it, and say some kind words to it. One day it will become a glorious Amish Friendship Bread. .

I did these things, and a few days later, it was indeed a glorious loaf of Amish bread! It even allows me to have more paste to give to my friends, spreading love from one kitchen to another.

So what is it? It is a cake-like bread made with appetizers shared in a manner similar to a chain letter.

For many years, I have been thinking that if I want to taste that delicious bread again, I need to give me a bag of batter (also known as amish bread “appetizer”).

Then I realized that I could still start from scratch-without a launcher. So today, I brought you this sacred Amish bread, which has been tried in your kitchen and proved to be correct. Good news-it only takes an hour to make, not a few days!

Let Amish’s Friendship Bread Without Appetizers

You can thank the buttermilk for allowing you to eat this delicious Amish Cinnamon Bread without appetizers!

If you really want to eat this kind of bread, but don’t have buttermilk on hand, you can use these tips to make it yourself!

Ingredients. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and set aside.

Mix + split. In another bowl, or in a stand mixer, mix the butter, sugar, and eggs together, then add the buttermilk, flour, and baking soda. Divide ½ of the batter into two greased bread pans (in other words, each pan has 1/4 of the mixture). (I used two 3″ deep 5″ x 9″ metal bread pans.)

Floor. Sprinkle some cinnamon sugar mixture on the batter of each pan, reserve about ÂĽ grains, and sprinkle on top. Add the remaining batter evenly to your two pans and sprinkle on the remaining cinnamon toppings.

bake. Bake at 350° for 45-50 minutes or until cooked through. Let cool for 20 minutes before removing from the pot. enjoy!

tip: Altitude, weather, oven and even the type of pan will affect the baking time. If you find that your bread takes longer to bake in the middle, you can cover the top with a piece of tin foil to prevent the crust from becoming too dark and crisp.

Recipe changes

Variety: Here are a few ways to change this recipe…

  • Add chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, nuts, raisins, cranberries…the possibilities are endless!
  • Replace ½ butter with an equal amount of applesauce.
  • Use a gluten-free baking mix. Use a 1:1 ratio instead of all-purpose flour. You may need to add a bit more buttermilk.

Another change is to make muffins: Divide half of the batter evenly into muffin tins. Fill the tank about â…“ and return with a full load along the way. Sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mixture, then add the remaining batter. Finally, put another layer of cinnamon sugar on top. Bake them at 350 degrees for 25-35 minutes. Check them with a toothpick through the middle after 25 hours.

Store and give away Amish bread

Shop In a sealed container/Ziploc at room temperature or wrapped in plastic/foil for 2-3 days. For longer storage, continue to wrap the bread tightly in plastic wrap, and then wrap it in foil. Label and store in the refrigerator for 1-2 months. Thaw before cutting.

Gift: As mentioned earlier, one of the reasons this is called friendship bread is because you pass a bag of appetizers to friends so that they can make their own. In order to maintain the spirit of friendship, just send the finished bread to family, friends, neighbors, teachers, colleagues…anyone!

Pinterest has some amazing ideas for delivering bread. One of my favorite methods is to simply wrap the bread in parchment paper, tie it up with raffia, twine or string, and add a cute gift tag or even a recipe so they can make it themselves.
