Christmas dinner tips
There are many side dish recipes to choose from for Christmas!
They are easier to choose when you learn about food, but we want to share some of our favorites and some tips for making them for the holidays.
Our first tip? Make something that can be prepared in different ways so that you don’t overcrowd the oven or stove. 😉
How much: The perfect ending of Christmas is to gather around the table with your loved ones and delicious food, but you don’t want to run out. The following information can help guide you how much to make.
- Potato dishes: Plan 6 ounces per person
- Vegetarian dishes: Plan 4 ounces per person
- Rolls Royce: 1 ½ roll per person
- spaghetti: Approximately ½ cup per person
- salad: ½-1 cup per person
Make it in advance: After a busy day of gifts and fun, you may not want to spend a lot of time cooking in the kitchen. Adding dishes that can be made in advance will make dinner preparation smooth and fast.
Individual recipes have more information on how to make them in advance and how to store leftovers.
Keep both sides hot: Even if you can make Christmas side dishes in advance at some point, some aspects need to be heated and kept hot until everything is ready. You can use the following options to help keep food hot:
- Cooler: not just for refrigerating food. Its insulation will also help retain heat. Cover pots and pans with lids or foil, and stack them inside. (Make sure they don’t confuse the food below)
- Set as a low-temperature or warm crock.
- Use insulated food carriers
- hot pot
Now, continue our selection of Christmas side dishes. We break it down into: salad recipes, vegetable noodles, rolled noodles and mixed noodles.
