We recently had some smelly delicacies at a New Year’s party, and I knew I had to try it. I did it…I fell in love with these Crockport Meatballs! I got the recipe and have made it several times since. Frozen meatballs are perfect for this, but if you want to try homemade meatballs, you can try our recipe here.
My husband especially likes this recipe and has asked for it a few times since the New Year party and I am glad he did it because they are so good! When we are entertaining, we really try to better choose simple and delicious recipes, because we know that preparation activities require a lot of work-cleaning, cooking, etc.
We think these are the best because they have received enthusiastic reviews and they are easy to put together! Two thumbs means simple and fast, especially when you are running around preparing for a party! ;D
One of the main ingredients of these slow cooker meatballs is jelly. We used red currant jelly, but other jellies also work well. Other ingredients required for this recipe include:
- chili sauce
- Lemon juice
- brown sugar
You might think jelly with meatballs would be weird, but its combination with the above ingredients and meatballs is more delicious than sweet, oh, so delicious!

The best part of this recipe is that you pour everything in a crock pot and let it cook. It only takes 5 minutes of work! I’m about dumping and going to recipes. 🙂 Here are the things you need to do to make this Crockport Meatballs recipe.
- Put brown sugar, chili sauce, jelly, tomato sauce, ginger, cold water and lemon juice in a clay pot.
- Add the frozen meatballs and stir to coat the meatballs with the sauce.
- Cook for 4 hours on high or 6-8 hours on low.

Do you have to use red currant jelly for this recipe? No, you can use grape jelly or apple jelly. Red currant jelly is not always available in stores, but if you can find it, it is our favorite jelly from this recipe.
How to store meatballs? If you happen to eat leftovers, let the meatballs cool and store in an airtight container. They will be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or in the refrigerator for 2-3 months.
How do i reheat meatballs? The easiest way is to use a microwave oven. However, the oven worked well and maintained the flavor and texture. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 8-10 minutes.

- 28-32 ounce bags of frozen meatballs
- 1 c brown sugar
- 1 C chili sauce
- 10 ounce cans of red currant jelly (you can also use grape jelly or lingonberry jelly)
- 14 oz bottle of tomato ketchup
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 1 1/2 c cold water
- 2 lemons, juice
