This time, my husband was impressed with some of the new technology I discovered first! I love using technology to make things easier in my life, but I would never claim to be tech-savvy. That’s why my husband was so impressed when I told him about Square Cash. When it comes to cash, we all think this answer is long overdue. Now, it’s a breeze to pay almost anyone on the spot without having to worry about carrying cash or giving change. I keep thinking I’ll have to pay the full bill at the restaurant, go to the bank extra to get money for the babysitter, or buy a pack of gum at the gas station just to get some cash back. No more hunting for a checkbook or even stamps to send money to the city! Square Cash is the answer. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate simple things that make my life easier! Plus, it’s free, so I thought it would make sense to share it!
Square Cash is an app for Android or iPhone that lets you send money directly to anyone from almost any bank account. You can even use Apple Pay now! You can download it from the Apple App Store or Google Play Market. Recipients only need an email address or phone number, but it’s easier if they also have the app. You must try this! Signing up is so easy. I think it really took me 30 seconds. I just have to enter my phone number, then text my security code, and the debit card I want to deposit or send money to. Once in the app, sending cash couldn’t be easier. You enter the amount, Cashtag (username), phone number, or email of the person you want to send it to, and you’re done. Recipients will receive a text message or an email allowing them to sign up and deposit cash into any account they want. It’s a simple direct deposit that makes things so easy that even paying a small amount is worth it. I wonder how many times splitting the bill is such a hassle. Now, for the first time, all my friends can sign up at a restaurant table, send money, and have a deposit ready to go before the check is brought back. My family often buys group gifts for birthdays and weddings, and now I just take out my phone and can easily send them to them in seconds, even if they haven’t registered yet.
There are a lot of other really cool features in this app. One of them is that everyone has a Cashtag. Not only does this act as a kind of username, but it’s also a secure way to tell the public where to send payments. A simple sign with a cash tag can make a small lemonade stand or fundraiser super easy.
One thing I’m particularly excited about is when I travel. I often travel across the country to attend conferences. On these trips, I’m always with other bloggers and friends. We often have to move money to split up hotel rooms, dinners, snacks, Ubers and many other things. Now, with Square Cash, splitting tabs is a much more annoying thing, and I don’t have to worry about it anymore.
In honor of Square Cash making my travels easier, I thought I’d share this love and try to make yours easier. Another travel hassle I endure is making sure I remember everything I need to pack.
