Smooth Creamy Rice Pudding Recipe

Rice pudding is a dessert made from milk, rice, sugar and other ingredients. It is creamy and can be served cold or hot!
No one really knows who invented rice pudding. Some people think it originated in China because of their ancient rice culture, but rice pudding can be found in many parts of the world! Each is slightly different and has a different flavor.
Today we are going to make a delicious dessert version of Eight Treasure Rice. It is sweet and smooth, making it a perfect dessert. I like to sprinkle cinnamon or nutmeg on top and eat it while it is hot. It has such a delicious unique flavor and texture!
How to make rice pudding
The best rice to use when making rice pudding is medium-grain white rice. Medium grain rice makes it a bit sticky and gives it the creamy texture you look for in rice pudding.
Plain rice. In a saucepan, bring 1.5 cups of water to a boil over high heat. After the water boils, pour in the rice and stir fry. Turn down the heat and cover the pot. Simmer the rice for 20 minutes. Before proceeding to the next step, make sure that the rice is thoroughly cooked.
pudding. Transfer the cooked rice to a clean pan. Add 1 cup and ½ cup halves, sugar and salt. Cook this mixture over medium heat until it becomes creamy-about 15-20 minutes. Add the remaining half and half, then add the beaten eggs and raisins. Cook for another 2 minutes, making sure to stir constantly.
Remove the rice pudding from the heat, add butter and vanilla. Serve hot, at room temperature, or refrigerate! Sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg to make it more delicious.
You can make many different rice puddings just by adding different ingredients. Try some of them:

Did you know that you can even use leftover white rice to make rice pudding? Put the remaining rice in a microwave safe bowl, add a little water, cover and steam. The rice should be hot and soft. Continue the rest of the recipe.

- ¾ cup uncooked medium grain white rice
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 2 1/2-3 cups half and half separated
- ⅓-1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg beaten
- 1 tablespoon butter
