Pork that does not fail
We like to cook meat for the holidays! ! Our favorite meat is steak, but we also like to make hamburgers and hot dogs, and my husbandâs favoriteâpulled pork!
He has always been a big fan of him, and I have to admit that I have converted now. I especially like how simple it is. This version is made in a slow cooker or crock pot.
My mother discovered this recipe for the first time a few years ago and decided to add some liquid smoke-this adds the perfect flavor to this pork dish. We sometimes use the original pork flavor in different recipes, but also like to add barbecue sauce (our favorite is Sweet Baby Ray’s) and use it to make delicious pork sandwiches.
We can tell you now that this recipe will not fail! It’s easy, and it’s always fast!
How to make pulled pork
It’s so easy to make this recipe! Literally, the preparation time is less than 5 minutes.
The main question people ask is which cut is used for pulling pork? The most common pork cuts you can use are pork shoulder (also called pork or Boston butt) and pork tenderloin. Both are good choices, but we prefer the butt. đ
Prepare. To prepare the meat, sprinkle coarse salt on the pork.
Cook. Put in a slow cooker, cover with liquid smoke and cook for 8-10 hours at low temperature.
Shred. From there, your pork should be chopped. We like to use two forks to chop the meat separately, or add barbecue sauce-perfect for our pulled pork sandwiches!
Made in the oven
If you don’t have a slow cooker, you can easily cook this pulled pork in the oven. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Then put all the ingredients in the baking tray and cover the lid.
Cook in the oven for 6 hours or until the pork falls apart. The thickest part of the pork should read 170 degrees on the meat thermometer.
What about leftovers?
Shop. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.
freeze. Freezing it is very easy and a good way to preserve leftovers. Store single servings in freezer-safe bags. Make sure to seal the bag tightly to avoid leakage. Your frozen pork can be kept in the refrigerator for 2-3 months.
Take it out when you donât have time to cook dinner for a quick and easy meal! Let it thaw and heat in the stove or microwave. Put it on the roll or in any recipe below!
