Of all the pie recipes we make, we certainly like classic recipes such as chocolate cream pie or lime pie, but we have a new love for this unique recipe similar to pecan pie.

If you like pecan pie, you must try this oatmeal pie. It has the same stickiness, brown sugar, and caramel flavor-but instead of crunchy pecans, it has a chewy layer of oatmeal.

I have heard that this kind of oat pie is called amish oat pie. I also read that it was made in the South during the Civil War to replace the pecan pie. Until recently, this was a new pie recipe for me, but I will definitely make it again and again because it is so delicious!

This oatmeal pie is delicious, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on it. I like to serve it with pumpkin pie or apple pie during the holidays.

How to make oatmeal pie

This pie is actually super easy to make. The filling is completed in 10 minutes. To save time, you can use store-bought pie crusts. However, if you want, I recommend our homemade pie crust recipe!
