Did you stay up until midnight? I am happy to report that we did it! ! Great, I know! All of us woke up at midnight, ten minutes later all of us fell down and went out to count, haha! Ha ha.
Although our New Year’s Eve is full of fun and appetizers, this week I still want to share with you some appetizers that are perfect for the upcoming Super Bowl, such as today’s chili cheese recipe.
This recipe is what my husband wanted, and I have been eager to try it. Every time we go to Chili’s, he orders queso and loves it! He knew we could find a copycat version, we did it, and it tasted like a chili version. I also like salsa, and I finally know how to make it (recipe here). We only made a small adjustment, but we are happy that we can now make queso recipes and salsa at home without going to Chili’s (because it is not easy to go to a restaurant with 6 children now!!) 😉
How to make chili sauce

Combination + heating. Put the remaining ingredients in a medium pot. Stir and heat until all the cheese is melted.
Please enjoy! Serve immediately.
Prompt, change + store information
- A spoon is the best choice for dipping sauce, but regular corn flakes work well.
- Celery and carrots and other vegetables
- Crusty bread or breadsticks
- It can also be poured on tacos or corn chips
More spicy: To make it more spicy, you can increase the amount of cumin and/or chili. You can also consider putting jalapeno flakes on top of the queso.
Claypot rice method: Put the Velveeta cubes and all other ingredients in a clay pot and stir well. Cook on low for 1-2 hours, or until the sauce is hot and smooth. Turn to the warm setting until you are ready to serve.
Shop This dish can be kept for up to a week in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Reheat single servings in the microwave or reheat larger portions in a crock until heated through.
