In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, and vanilla. Whisk the eggs one at a time. Mix the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients.

Then, divide the batter evenly into two bowls. In a bowl, add chocolate chips and cocoa powder. In a second bowl, stir pumpkin puree, walnuts, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg.

(tip: It does not have to be completely separate-you can observe it. Or, if you are a perfectionist 😉 Use a kitchen scale to weigh the total amount of batter and divide it in half. )

Rotate… Take half of the chocolate batter and spread on the bottom of the baking pan. Then spread half of the pumpkin batter on top.
