Making + Baking Pumpkin Brownies
Get ready to make the most delicious autumn chocolate cake you have ever tasted. They are simple, they are the epitome of the beauty of autumn! Just follow these simple steps…
First preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease an 8 x 8 inch baking pan. Then, mix your dry ingredients in a bowl-flour, baking powder and salt.
In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, and vanilla. Whisk the eggs one at a time. Mix the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients.
Then, divide the batter evenly into two bowls. In a bowl, add chocolate chips and cocoa powder. In a second bowl, stir pumpkin puree, walnuts, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg.
(tip: It does not have to be completely separate-you can observe it. Or, if you are a perfectionist 😉 Use a kitchen scale to weigh the total amount of batter and divide it in half. )
For the perfectly spinning pumpkin brownies…
Rotate… Take half of the chocolate batter and spread on the bottom of the baking pan. Then spread half of the pumpkin batter on top.
Using the remaining two batters, place the clumps evenly in the baking pan. Take a kitchen knife and gently drag it across the batter to form a swirling top.
Put the pan in the oven and bake for 45-48 minutes.
Every oven is different, but to make sure your brownie is cooked through, make sure the center doesn’t look soggy or shakes slightly. 😉

Do pumpkin brownies need to be refrigerated? Normally, we put the brownie on the counter with a lid, but if it is cooked canned pumpkin, we recommend storing these guys in the refrigerator. 😉
