Olive Garden Breadsticks Recipe (+Video)


Just like the original version, these imitated olive grove breadsticks are light and airy on the inside and seasoned with butter and garlic salt on the outside. You can never just eat one!

These breadsticks go perfectly with any soup, salad or pasta. But they are particularly delicious because we imitated the recipe of Zuppa Toscana-another olive grove favorite!

Mimic Olive Garden Breadsticks

Who else is excited about Tang Ji? Soup is one of my favorite foods, and I like to drink soup at least once a week.

I like almost everything, from broccoli and cheese soup to tomato and basil soup. I like to have so many different flavor combinations, and they are always warm and comfortable.

Of course, if you are making dinner soup, you need some great breads to go with. This is where these imitated olive grove bread sticks come in! They taste like olive grove breadsticks, but better because you can make them at home! Most importantly, they are easy to make and much cheaper than store-bought ones.

How to make olive grove breadsticks

Dough. You will start by mixing a simple breadstick dough. If you have a stand mixer, it will make the kneading part a little easier, but you can also mix the dough with your hands! After mixing, let it rise for about an hour, or until it doubles in size.

(notes: The kneaded dough should be smooth and elastic. I found that it takes 7-10 minutes. If you use a dough hook with an electric mixer, use a medium speed. )

Divide. Next, divide the dough into twelve equal-sized pieces, each about two ounces. If you have obsessive-compulsive disorder like me, you can use a kitchen scale. Based on the weight of two ounces, I actually ended up with 13 breadsticks. The more the better! 🙂

roll. Roll each piece of dough into a long rope (about 9 inches long) and place them 2 inches apart on a lined baking sheet. They don’t have to be perfect at all. Even if they are a bit unstable, they will still become delicious.

rise. Cover the breadsticks and let them rise for about an hour. In the last ten minutes of the rise time, preheat the oven to 425 degrees.

bake. Toast the breadsticks for 12-14 minutes, or until golden brown, then brush with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic salt. If you don’t have garlic salt, you can mix some garlic powder with regular table salt, but I like the taste of garlic salt. good to eat!

Change and storage

Variety: We like the garlic salt flavor of Olive Garden, but you can easily change the ingredients to get a new flavor.

  • Butter and parmesan cheese powder on the outside

Storage: Fresh breadsticks are absolutely best when eaten that day, but they can still make delicious leftovers, just store them in a bag or container at room temperature.

  • Dough: Make the dough into bread sticks, but don’t let them rise again. Instead, place them on the baking sheet and put them in the refrigerator. Once the solids are transferred to a freezer-safe storage container, label and freeze for up to 3 months. When you are ready to use them, you need to completely thaw them before baking. Breadsticks

  • 1 cup 2 tablespoons warm water
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 3-3 1/4 cup flour

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • In a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let stand for 5-10 minutes, or until foaming. Add salt, oil and two cups of flour and mix well.
