Mini Donut Muffins Cinnamon Sugar + Frosting!

After all, we don’t share recipes that we ourselves, don’t love. What’s not to love about these Mini Frosted Cinnamon Donut Muffins? The picture says it all!
These little doughnut muffins are topped with cinnamon and sugar and topped with an amazing cream cheese frosting! ! These bite-sized goodies are such a hit, we wish we doubled the recipe. They are small, but don’t let that fool you. You’ll wish you had a dozen bakers!
Personally, I like that this is a quick recipe to put together. We ended up adding frosting (because isn’t frosting better?!) which was a huge hit. If you want them to be a little lighter, then leave out the frosting.
Either way, they taste great! We hope you love these muffins as much as we do.
How to Make Mini Donut Muffins
batter. In a large bowl, combine sugar, margarine and nutmeg. Add the milk, then the baking powder and flour until well combined. Half-fill greased mini muffin cups.
bake. Bake at 375°F for 13-16 minutes, until the tops of the muffins are pale golden.
coating. In a separate bowl, combine ½ cup sugar and cinnamon. Remove toasted muffins from cup, dip in ¼ cup melted margarine, then add cinnamon sugar mixture.
frost. While muffins are cooling, combine all frosting ingredients. Add it to muffins and enjoy! ! !
Tips + Storage Information
For regular size muffins Cook for 20-25 minutes or until light brown on top.
If you don’t like nutmeg then you can substitute Âľ teaspoon for it Cinnamon.
If you find your The frosting is too thin, Then add a little extra butter and cream cheese until you get the desired texture. Add only about ½ tablespoon butter and 2 tablespoons cream cheese at a time to avoid changing the flavor too much.
shop Leftover muffins will keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Store leftover frosting in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Remove frosting from refrigerator 1-2 hours before using again to soften and return to room temperature.
these muffins freeze Ok, but you want to freeze the cinnamon sugar topping and frosting first. To freeze, let them cool completely and place them in a freezer bag for up to 3 months. When defrosting, let them sit on the counter at room temperature for 1-2 hours or reheat in the microwave in 30-second increments. Then, add the cinnamon sugar and icing sugar as per normal instructions.
