Homemade Macaroni and Cheese Recipe (+Video)

Macaroni and cheese are always a quick and easy dinner, especially when you can’t think of what to do. The kids never complain (because which kid doesn’t like pasta?), they like it just like our Creamy Macaroni Pasta and Fettuccine Alfredo.

This recipe is a great idea for a year-round dinner, but we even use it often during the holidays-it’s a great side dish for large family gatherings!
How to make macaroni and cheese:
This may take longer than a boxed mac n cheese, but let me tell you that the extra time and effort is well worth it. In addition, most of the raw materials you need are what you already have on hand, and the steps are very simple.
spaghetti. First cook the pasta according to the package instructions, then set aside.
Sauce. In a large saucepan, melt ½ c. Heat butter over medium heat. Add flour and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add garlic salt and pepper to taste. Slowly pour the milk and stir until smooth. Heat the mixture to a low boiling point until it thickens. Remove from heat source.
gather. Add the hot pasta to a greased 9×13 inch baking pan. Then, sprinkle 6 cups of shredded cheese on the pasta (yes, you can cut it if you want). Pour the thickened cream sauce over the pasta and cheese. Let it sit until the cheese melts, then stir together.
Top and bake. Melt 2 TB butter over medium heat. Add the breadcrumbs and stir constantly until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes. Pour on the macaroni and cheese. Bake at 325° for 14-15 minutes. The service is warm and enjoy!

This cheesy macaroni and cheese is simply the best. Here are some of the changes you can make, whether it’s changing cheese, using different types of breadcrumbs, or adding ingredients such as bacon.
cheese. You can get cheese ideas by replacing cheddar cheese with different cheeses or mixing 2-3 cheeses together. A popular mixture is equal parts mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, and American cheese.
Some other cheeses that are suitable for Mac n Cheese recipes include Parmesan, Sharp Cheddar, White Cheddar, Smoked Gouda, Gruyere, Colby Jack, and Gorgonzola.
