Hearty and Cheesy Crock Pot Soup
Soup, soup, soup! We have soup in our heads, can you tell? I’m excited to introduce today’s Cheeseburger Soup (yes, it’s different from our burger soup). This is my favorite soup recipe I’ve tried so far this year! It’s creamy, cheesy, and simple enough to be your new favorite.
Best of all, it’s made in a slow cooker (easy and simple)! The Crockpot Soup Recipe is by far my favorite soup recipe because, honestly, who likes to stand by the kitchen stove and watch soup cook? not me!
Just prep the ingredients, throw them into the saucepan, and in a few hours, you’ll have this fantastic finished product with hamburger meat, carrots, potatoes, Velveeta cheese, and lots of delicious spices! This cheeseburger soup recipe is delicious and hearty, and you’ll love it!
How to Make Cheeseburger Soup
vegetable. Start by peeling and shredding the vegetables, then add them to the saucepan with the broth. Cook on high for 3-4 hours, or until tender.
Add to. Meanwhile, on the stove, melt 6 TB butter in a saucepan, then add it and 2 cans of evaporated milk to your saucepan.

velvet. Add Velveeta 30 minutes before serving.
Did I forget to say it’s bacon on top? ! Great for bacon lovers! I will say, my husband was surprised that there were carrots in the soup because you don’t really put carrots on cheeseburgers, but somehow they turned out perfectly in the recipe! I hope you will agree. đ
Stove Instructions
Peel and chop vegetables, then add to a pot of stew for 20 minutes. Add 6 TB butter and evaporated milk and simmer for another 10 minutes. While it’s simmering, cook your burger meat with another 2 TB of butter along with the onion/onion flakes/onion powder.
Once the meat is no longer pink, add the meat and seasonings to the stock pot and simmer for another 10 minutes. Add Velveeta cheese and simmer for another 10-15 minutes.
Ingredients and Storage Tips
condensed milk? If you don’t have evaporated milk on hand, it’s actually quite simple to make your own. To make 1 cup (240 ml) evaporated milk, you will need 2 ÂŒ c regular milk.
Heat regular milk in a saucepan over medium heat. If needed, adjust cooking time to maintain a gentle boil. Stir constantly until a little more than half of the milk has evaporated (about 10 minutes). Remove from heat and cool.
Can you substitute other cheeses for Velveeta cheese? Yes. Velveeta does make it more cheesy and creamy, but other cheeses like cheddar work well too.
what is vandra? Wondra is manufactured by General Mills. They use a special type of wheat that is ground into very fine particles, making it easy to dissolve in liquids. It is used in sauces, soups and gravies. If you don’t have Wondra, you can choose to use all-purpose flour instead.
Can I Freeze Cheeseburger Soup? Some people are hesitant to freeze dishes with milk or cream for fear that the milk/cream will separate from freezing. While this can happen, just whip it back to a creamy texture. Add fresh milk or cream to help.
Freeze: Follow the recipe but do not add the velvet/cheese. Let the soup cool and place in a freezer-safe container with 1 inch of headspace. Store for 4-6 months. Thaw in refrigerator. Reheat on stovetop or crock. When the soup is hot add the velvet/cheese. Simmer for 30 minutes and serve.
