What is your “health” like?
Healthy food is a bit subjective and depends on how you choose to consume macronutrients.
Some people choose a high-protein, low-fat, low-carb diet, while others may choose a high-fat, low-carb, low-sugar diet. Or maybe you prefer plant-based or organic foods.
Either way, I have some healthy appetizers sure to whet your appetite! !
These categories can go on and on because there are so many different ways to eat healthy. This page divides our appetizer recipes into more common healthy appetizer recipe requests.
low sugar is always a good idea
Low sugar: I think no matter what meal plan your family eats, most of us would agree that low sugar is one of the healthiest things we can do for our bodies.
A few ways to reduce your sugar intake are to use
- Sugar substitutes such as stevia, xylitol, erythritol, or monk fruit sweeteners.
- Natural sweeteners such as coconut sugar, honey, maple syrup, and molasses.

When picking a menu, try to offer different categories of appetizers so everyone has something to eat.
- Prepare 2-3 different appetizers for less than 10 guests. Add another appetizer option for every additional 5-8 guests,
- If appetizers are the only items on the menu, plan to eat 10-12 pieces per person in the first 2 hours. After that, add 5 pieces per person per hour. If they are served before the meal, plan to have a total of 3-5 pieces per guest per person.
