Easy Chicken Pasta Recipe+Video
A new change for your favorite pasta dinner! This simple recipe requires chicken, spaghetti, chicken cream, salsa, sour cream and cheese, making it the epitome of comfort food.
All my kids love spaghetti (which kid doesn’t like it?), but can switch from classic pasta recipes every once in a while! Whenever we need some variety, we like to make this chicken pasta, grilled pasta, and even pasta peppers!
Chicken in spaghetti? Yes!
I admit that I am hesitant to try this recipe because we have always liked our classic pasta recipe, which has red sauce and beef. That being said, chicken + pasta is my favorite dinner combination, so we knew we had to try it. I am happy to report that the results are amazing (and easy to make).
When you see the ingredients in this recipe, you will understand why it is so popular. The main ingredients are:
- Chick
- Creamy Chicken Soup
- Salsa
- sour cream
- cheese
We were surprised that there were some spices in it (salsa, Mexican cheese and taco seasoning), but we actually liked all the flavors! It’s not spicy at all, but it’s not the Italian seasoning you expect in pasta, it has a Mexican flavor that makes this dish so delicious!
How to make chicken pasta
We like that this recipe is quick and easy. I also like that we always have these ingredients on hand, which is very helpful to this busy mother. I think it would be easy to turn it into a simple frying pan recipe instead of baking it, but no matter how you make it, I think you will like this recipe.
spaghetti. To do this, cook the pasta according to the package instructions and drain.
mix. Then, mix the cooked pasta, diced chicken (for all the information you need for roasting chicken, visit here), creamy chicken soup, salsa, sour cream, taco seasoning, and 1 ½ cup cheese. Stir to mix.
bake. Pour into a 9×13 spray paint baking pan. Place ½ cup cheese and chopped cilantro on top. Cover with foil and cook in the oven for 25 minutes or until the cheese starts to bubble.
At CROCKPOT
It’s easy to make chicken pasta in a crock pot! You can even cook chicken with other ingredients instead of starting with cooked chicken.
- Put raw chicken, creamy chicken soup, salsa, sour cream, 1 cup cheese and taco seasoning in a crock pot.
- Cover with a lid and cook on high heat for 3-4 hours until the chicken is cooked through.
- Cook pasta.
- Pour in the cooked spaghetti and remaining cheese.
- Put everything together in a crock pot to mix and melt the cheese.
- Cook on low for 20-30 minutes before serving.
No matter what you do, it will definitely be a hit!
A perfect early meal
The chicken pasta is a great frozen meal!
Simply prepare all the ingredients and pour them into a freezer-safe baking container. Put cheese on top. Cover with plastic wrap and tin foil, make sure it is sealed and ready to freeze. This can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 6 months.
If you want to advance without freezing, you can also assemble it, close the lid, and keep it in the refrigerator for up to two days until you are ready to bake.
How long can cooked chicken pasta be stored in the refrigerator? You can store leftovers of cooked chicken pasta in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Be sure to put it in an airtight container and reheat it in the microwave.
Can’t wait to make this simple, cheesy and delicious pasta easy again!
