This Chinese Chicken Salad recipe is an absolute favorite in our family. It’s on our weekly dinner menu almost every month or more.
The taste is addictive and I’ve been craving it. This amazing dressing makes it the best salad ever.
I love the combination of chicken, cabbage and crunchy noodles on top. Extra crispy noodles please! You can never have too much.
This recipe tastes just like what you would order at a restaurant, but is very comfortable in your own kitchen and at home. In my book, this is a winning recipe!
Chinese Chicken Salad Dressing
The dressing is the star in this recipe. The ingredients are as follows:
- sugar
- soy sauce
- sesame seeds
- all spices
- rice wine vinegar
- vegetable oil
- sesame oil
Combine all seasoning ingredients (except oil) into a glass jar. Cover and shake vigorously for 2 minutes, until well mixed. Add the oil and shake for an additional 3 minutes, or until the oil is emulsified into the vinegar. Cool this dressing for at least 2 hours.
Assemble the salad. Add all salad ingredients to a large bowl. Pour the frozen dressing over it before serving. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and crunchy noodles.
Additional Tips
Need to make this ahead of time? Simply combine all salad ingredients and chill in the refrigerator until ready to eat. Toss it with the dressing just before you’re ready to serve.

- 4 cups shredded napa cabbage
- 1 1/2 cups shredded red cabbage
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 2 cups shredded chicken
- 1/2 cup crispy noodles
- 1-2 teaspoons sesame seeds
dressing
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon all spices
- 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 tablespoons sesame oil
