How to Make Easter Cupcakes
These cupcakes are really easy! You can make your favorite cupcake recipe, even a boxed version, and go from there.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line pans with cupcake liners. Prepare the cake mix and bake according to the directions on the box. Let it cool completely.
Meanwhile, to make the frosting, in a large mixing bowl (with a hand mixer) or the bowl of a stand mixer, beat the butter, vanilla, and salt for 1 minute.
Add icing sugar and milk, beat for 1 minute, scrape down sides, remove â…“ cup icing sugar and place in small bowl. Add green food coloring (a few drops) to the large bowl and stir for another minute.
Place green icing in a piping bag with a straw tip and pipe onto cupcakes.
Add orange food coloring (a few drops) to the reserved frosting and whisk until combined. Place orange frosting in a piping bag with a small round tip and place beak, two dots for eyes and feet on Reese’s peanut butter eggs. Put candy eyes on it.
Add eggs to the top of each cupcake, sprinkle with a few more drops – and that’s it!
Can these be made ahead of time?
You can definitely make these cupcakes ahead of time. Just store it in the refrigerator and serve. We recommend not making them more than 24 hours in advance. You can make cupcakes ahead of time and freeze them. Just thaw, then frost and add candy just before serving.
Can you do this without the pipe hint?
Yes, you don’t have to blow the pipe on the grass. The green frosting is enough to indicate it’s grass. You can also use a pre-filled icing tube to pipe to the chicks.
Candy Eyeballs can also be found on Amazon as well as in the bakery section of grocery stores.
