Cucumber Sandwich | Little Luna
We went to my son’s soccer game today and the weather was amazing! I know I brag about Arizona a lot, but nothing beats Arizona in early spring. Unfortunately, that means late spring and summer are just around the corner. Survival just got harder 😉 One of the necessities to help my family get through the heat is drinking lots of water. However, I think it’s a constant battle! For example, at today’s game my son had a water bottle, but all his friends had sports drinks, so guess who’s the bad guy! In fact, a survey conducted by NESTLÉ PURE LIFE found that getting children to drink enough water was the number one health habit issue faced by mothers (38%). That’s even more than struggling to eat fruit (29%), get enough exercise (23%), eat breakfast (19%) and drink milk (18%). Why is my kid drinking water when there are so many seemingly delicious and sugary drinks out there. However, I often forget how unhealthy these drinks are. If I replace a 12 oz. A 140-calorie-a-day sugar-sweetened beverage with water can cut more than 65 cups of solid sugar from their diet! Do you believe? !
Happily, there are companies working to make it easier for moms like me and more fun for my kids to drink. One of these products is NESTLÉ® PURE LIFE® 8oz “Share-a-Smile™” Kids Edition Water bottle. These bottles are perfect for my kids! It combines activities that my kids love and enjoy drinking water – I hope they enjoy more. These water bottles feature fun and well-drawn art for kids my child’s age. My house is comparable to a publishing company because my kids use the amount of paper each week they can use to draw. If you ask them, they won’t hesitate to say it’s their favorite thing to do. When my kids see these water bottles for the first time, they love to compare how good or bad the pictures are to how old or younger the artist is than themselves. There are 8 different, very creative illustrations on the bottle, and my kids will remember the ones they’ve seen and drank. The Nestlé Pure Life Kid Design Edition bottle really makes drinking water more fun for them. It also makes it easier for me to get them to bring it. Because they are only 8 oz. For the size, it fits perfectly in a lunch bag, or they’re easy to grab on the way to the park. Another huge benefit of the size is that they are just the right size for kids to drink. Thanks to this, we no longer have random, half-empty, ubiquitous water bottles we’re afraid to throw away because we don’t know who’s who.
Nestlé Pure Life is really trying to promote that drinking water is not only healthy, but their Nestlé Pure Life Kids Design Edition bottle is also fun. You can share what makes you smile on social media using the hashtag #NestleShareaSmile. For my family, it only makes sense to use this hashtag when my kids are doing their favorite activity that makes them smile – coloring.
To celebrate Share-a-Smile bottles and labels, we’ve created a DIY kids calendar inspired by bottles that can be used any year. Kids can create a calendar by filling it with their own colorful creations. What’s so cool is the versatility of this calendar. It can be for home or as a gift for working mom and dad. It is also a great gift for grandpa or grandma. Who doesn’t want to see a different drawing of their favorite kid (or grandson) every month? !
The kids had so much fun coloring and making the calendar that we ended up spending an afternoon. We dismantled Nestlé Pure Life water bottles and even made some mini cucumber sandwiches as snacks. Kids love this coloring and I love watching them find so much fun in their creation! !
Easy Cucumber Sandwich – cucumber, cheese and a slice of ham! !

We hope your kids will enjoy these DIY printable and coloring calendars as much as ours. I want to make sure they record all the cousins, aunts and uncles birthdays so we can not only enjoy the beautiful photos but also make sure we don’t miss anyone’s special day. 😉
