We went to my son’s soccer game today and the weather was amazing! I know I brag about Arizona a lot, but nothing beats Arizona in early spring. Unfortunately, that means late spring and summer are just around the corner. Survival just got harder 😉 One of the necessities to help my family get through the heat is drinking lots of water. However, I think it’s a constant battle! For example, at today’s game my son had a water bottle, but all his friends had sports drinks, so guess who’s the bad guy! In fact, a survey conducted by NESTLÉ PURE LIFE found that getting children to drink enough water was the number one health habit issue faced by mothers (38%). That’s even more than struggling to eat fruit (29%), get enough exercise (23%), eat breakfast (19%) and drink milk (18%). Why is my kid drinking water when there are so many seemingly delicious and sugary drinks out there. However, I often forget how unhealthy these drinks are. If I replace a 12 oz. A 140-calorie-a-day sugar-sweetened beverage with water can cut more than 65 cups of solid sugar from their diet! Do you believe? !
