These biscuit sticks are delicious and chewy. The best part is that they are very easy to make and do not require much preparation time at all. They make delicious and fast food for last-minute holiday parties or surprise visitors!
I like that you can make these super festive by changing M&Ms, which is also a great way to enhance the flavor! I like to try mint M&Ms for a little extra delicacy.
My girls like to make these by themselves because they are really easy! Then we took out the vanilla ice cream and ate a large scoop with these warm and happy cookie bars.
Making Christmas Cookie Sticks
Prepare. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×9 baking pan.
Dough. Melt butter in a microwave safe bowl. Add melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla to a mixing bowl. Stir well. Add flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Stir well and pour into a 9Ă—9 pan.
Sprinkle and bake. Sprinkle M&Ms and chocolate chips evenly on top. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
Variety: From doubling the recipe to what you put, this recipe is easy to adapt to anything you want:
- Double: Just double the ingredients and bake the bars in a larger pan. For thicker bars, use a 9×13 pan. For thinner bars, use an 11×16 pan. Bake at 350°F for a few more minutes than specified in the recipe.
- Toppings: Using red, white and green M&Ms is an easy way to turn these cookies into a holiday treat. Some other holiday ingredients include Christmas sprinkles and Christmas color frosting. You don’t have to stick to the color of Christmas, you can also use white chocolate chips, chopped toffee chips, butterscotch chips and other toppings. Be creative!
