Making chicken sofa casserole

There are various recipes for chicken sofas, most of which use concentrated soup and/or mayonnaise. Because I am a completely self-made girl, I decided to make my own sauce recipe. It is as creamy and delicious as the traditional recipe, but tastes better because it is homemade!

Prepare. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees, then spray a 9 x 13 baking pan with cooking spray.

Sauce. In a large saucepan, heat the butter over medium heat until melted. Add flour and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until bubbling and golden brown. Slowly add the chicken broth, then add the milk, stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Boil the sauce until thick and bubbling. Remove the sauce from the heat, add sour cream and salt.

brocoli. Put the broccoli with 2 tablespoons of water in a microwave safe bowl. Put the lid on and heat in the microwave for 2 minutes, or until slightly soft but not fully cooked. Good drainage.

Combine. Add the broccoli and chicken (the chicken cooking instructions here) and the sauce to the frying pan and stir to combine. Pour into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.

bake. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter and breadcrumbs. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs on top of the chicken mixture. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the breadcrumbs are golden brown and crispy and the sauce starts to bubble.

Please enjoy! Serve hot with cooked rice, noodles or mashed potatoes.

Prompt, change + store information

To avoid mushy broccoli, The key is to cook only halfway through and then add it to the casserole mixture. Broccoli will be cooked during the rest of the process when it is roasted, and it will still be green and soft when it comes out of the oven, rather than mushy and bland. It makes the display more beautiful and tastes better.

youA bag of frozen steamed broccoli Because you need to steam broccoli in this recipe anyway. You may need several bags to get 3 cups.

If the sauce is not thick enough Because you can try adding more flour or let it cook longer.

Health changes:
