Imitators of disney world

This is an imitation recipe of a flatbread caprese pizza. It comes from Pinocchio Village House in the Magic Kingdom of Disney World. When we first went to Disney World to try this recipe, we immediately fell in love with it. I like it very much, so I took a picture and knew I wanted to try a copycat version to take it home.

I am happy to report that Disney’s recipe is not only super easy to copy, but it also tastes just like it! ! Even my husband, who is not a big fan of balsamic glaze, thought it was really good and asked me to add it to the rotating meal. 😉

What is flatbread? Flatbread is basically bread without yeast or other leavening agents. Naan, corn tortilla, piadina are all types of flatbread. Flat bread can be used in various ways. It can be used to dip in sauces and soups, to make sandwiches, in this case it can also be used to dip PIZZA!

Unlike ordinary pizza crusts that are fermented with yeast, this flatbread remains thin and crunchy during baking. In addition, due to the lack of yeast, the preparation and baking time for flatbread pizzas is less.

How to make Caprese flatbread

The amount of each ingredient varies according to the quantity/quantity you make. We bought a pack of 4 packs of flatbread from the store and even changed the ingredients according to the person who ate it (my husband likes very little pizza sauce and a lot of cheese; I like the right amount of sauce instead of so much cheese). 😉

Prepare. First preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

Toppings. Add pizza sauce to your flatbread (no matter how much you like). Cut your tomatoes into thin slices and add 6 to each bread. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.

bake. Bake for 11-14 minutes or until the cheese is frothy.

Serve. Sprinkle a little balsamic glaze and basil on top. Enjoy the warmth!

Balsamic Glaze: You will most likely find balsamic vinegar near the vinegar section of a grocery store. You can also follow the steps below to make your own:

  1. In a saucepan, mix balsamic vinegar and brown sugar (4 parts vinegar to 1 part sugar) over medium heat. Heat until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for about 20 minutes, until the mixture is reduced by half.

Change, advance, +store

Use any of the following changes to switch recipes:

  • For a crisper crust, or if you are using homemade dough, bake without a cover for 4-5 minutes, add toppings and bake for the remaining time, until the cheese is melted.
  • Add garlic: I like the garlic-flavored crust. Just peel and mash a clove of garlic. Rub the unprocessed cloves on a regular flatbread, then add the ingredients.
  • Replace the tomato slices under the cheese with cherry tomatoes of different colors. Cut them in half, put them on top of the cheese, and bake them.

in advance: Due to the fresh tomatoes, I do not recommend assembling the pizza and freezing it for baking later. You can buy/make flatbread in advance, and then wrap it in the refrigerator for 2-3 months. Thaw, top and bake.

Storage: Put the remaining flatbread pizza in an airtight container and put it in the refrigerator for 1-2 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave, or eat cold!
