Sweetened Blueberries
- ÂĽ cup granulated sugar (50 g)
- ÂĽ cup hot water (60 ml)
- ÂĽ cup blue granulated sugar (50 g)
- 5 blueberries
cocktail
- 1 oz blue orange (30 ml)
- 1 oz vodka (30 ml)
- 2 oz coconut water (55 ml)
- ½ lime
- ice, for shaking and serving
coconut float
- 1 tablespoon full-fat coconut milk, shaken
- ½ tablespoon blue citrus
Prepare
- To make the sweetened blueberries: Add the granulated sugar to the hot water and stir until dissolved. Let the mixture cool slightly for 3-4 minutes.
- Spread granulated sugar on a plate. Dip the blueberries into the syrup with a fork, then roll them in the granulated sugar, then transfer to a wire rack to dry, about 15-20 minutes. Once dry, skewer blueberries on a metal cocktail pick.
- To make a cocktail: Add blue citrus, vodka, coconut water, and lime juice to a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake for 1 minute, until cold.
- Fill an old-fashioned glass or rock glass with ice and strain the cocktail into the glass.
- Make the coconut float: In a small bowl, whisk together coconut milk and curacao.
- Gently pour the coconut float over the cocktail and let it run off the liquid.
- Place the sweetened blueberry garnish on top of the glass.
