I was so happy to share it because it was loved by the whole family and it tasted so cheesy and delicious in the end. In fact, my husband and sisters claim that this is the best casserole they have ever eaten. How about quickly becoming a family favorite? !

As the holidays approach, I know it’s always fun to have great recipes on hand, and this Tater Tot casserole will be perfect for those gatherings. This particular dish has a tater tot base with a cheesy cream center and a fried onion top. All these layers together make an amazing (and simple!) potato casserole that everyone loves.

We used frenchÂź Many of our classic holiday dishes (such as mung bean casserole) use crispy fried onions, but I like that they add the perfect flavor and crunch to this casserole. In fact, when I made this recipe, I realized that they can be added well to any casserole, potato or salad. They add a lot of elements to the recipe and are perfect for all your festive dishes!

We are all about simple recipes, this casserole is very simple. Here are the ingredients needed for this tater tot hot dish recipe:

The great thing about today’s recipe is that it is simple, fast and delicious. We started with a layer of frozen crispy mashed potatoes and ended up with a mixture of sour cream, cheese, mushroom cream and chicken broth.

We ended up in frenchÂź Crispy fried onions, roast for 45-50 minutes. The result was a new favorite casserole recipe, which took a few minutes to prepare and was very delicious.

When I say that the whole family likes these potatoes, I am not kidding. We had to separate the leftovers because everyone wanted to take some home to give the family a try. 😉

  • 1 32 oz.Frozen Crispy French Fries in Bags
  • 1 16 oz.Container sour cream
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, chopped
  • 1 10.75 pz.Canned Butter Chicken and Mushroom Soup
  • 1 6 oz.Canned French Fried Onions
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • Preheat the oven to 350. Bake in an oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius) for 45 to 50 minutes.
  • Put the mashed potatoes in a greased 9×13 pan.

  • In a medium bowl, combine sour cream, cheese, creamy chicken/mushroom soup, and garlic salt. Stir well and pour on the mashed potatoes.

  • Sprinkle onions on the top of the casserole and bake for 45-50 minutes. Please enjoy!
