Alfredo is a classic dinner recipe the whole family loves. Whether you’re serving it with chicken or the simpler fettuccine Alfredo, or even a casserole, this pasta dish is a great option – especially since it’s all made in one pot!
Favorite Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo
We have Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo almost every week in our house. My kids always ask if we can have it for dinner. Fettuccine is the ultimate comfort food, it’s so creamy and cheesy. Add chicken and you’ve got the best dinner ever.
Don’t be intimidated by homemade Alfredo sauce – it’s super easy to make! What’s better than cream, butter and cheese? It tastes ten times better than any store-bought sauce.
Did I mention this is a one pot meal? Give me all my one pot meals. Nothing appeals to me more than a simple dinner cleanup. I know your family will love this recipe as much as we do!
How to Make Chicken Alfredo
Chick. The first step is to season the chicken with salt and pepper. Heat oil on a frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook chicken until browned on each side. About 7-8 minutes on each side.
Let the chicken rest on the plate for 10 minutes. Slice chicken and set aside while making pasta and sauces.
Alfredo sauce and noodles. Using the same pan, add the milk, broth and garlic. Add salt and pepper and bring to a simmer. Add dry pasta and stir for 3 minutes. Continue to cook the noodles for 8 minutes.
Add heavy cream and Parmesan cheese and mix well. Simmer until sauce thickens (a few minutes).
Decorate. Stir in chicken and serve! Garnish with a little fresh parsley and (of course!!) more parmesan. Your Alfredo sauce will never have too much cheese.
You can also use different kinds of pasta. If you want small bites, try a bow tie or macaroni. I also like to use angel hair pasta. No matter how you make this dish, I know it will be one of your favorites too!
Can I add vegetables to this alfredo? When I want to enhance the dish, I add some vegetables.
Broccoli or asparagus are good options and both taste great. Really, anything goes great with these cheesy creamy sauces on top.
Need to feed a group of people?

Alfredo recipe tips:
Can you freeze chicken alfredo? I do not recommend freezing Fettuccine Alfredo. If you try to reheat it will get mushy and the sauce may separate. But you can keep it in the refrigerator in an airtight container for 2-4 days. Reheat in the microwave for a minute or two until heated through.
What to Serve with Chicken Alfredo? We always serve some kind of bread next to our Chicken Alfredo Pasta. You need something to soak up the extra sauce! Here are some of our favorites:
If you’re considering a lighter option, try the Crispy Caesar Salad! Or some of our favorite vegetables include roasted asparagus or roasted broccoli.
You really can’t go wrong with this recipe – a classic and loved by all! !
