Delicious vegetable dip
Everyone needs a good homemade vegetable dip recipe, especially for parties, barbecues, holiday family gatherings, etc. I have a commonly used dipping sauce recipe, and every time I make it, it is always the end of the past party. It’s so good!
A few years ago, my mother introduced this dipping sauce to me, and every time I made it, the whole batch disappeared immediately. She provided a lot of catering services for the wedding and used this amazing dipping sauce, which she kindly asked me to share with you. 🙂
We all like parties, so we have a feeling that this will be the first choice!
Tips for the perfect dill vegetable dip
What is dill? There are actually two types of “dill”: dill weed and dill seeds. This recipe requires dill herb, which is a herb and not a spice. It is used to add soup to dishes, especially for marinating dishes or salad dressings.
Lighter version. You can use sour cream instead of regular unsweetened Greek yogurt (along with light mayonnaise). This will give it a thicker texture and also reduce the overall fat content of some dipping sauces. You can also use real vegetables for the dipping sauce, such as grated carrots, cucumbers or celery.
Thicker. Add more yogurt/sour cream, reduce the amount of liquid added, and do not use a food processor or blender.
More soaking ideas: If you don’t want to eat this dipping sauce with vegetables, you can use corn flakes, liz biscuits, pretzels, salt, pita chips, potato chips, or wheat flakes.
How long can this vegetable dipping sauce last? Soaking at room temperature should not exceed 2 hours. At this point the dairy products can start to rotate. Take this dipping sauce directly from the refrigerator and pay close attention. If you do reach this point, close the lid and put it back in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before letting people eat it again.
Can you freeze this dipping sauce? Usually sour cream and mayonnaise do not freeze well. It loses some texture.
Can you make this in advance? Yes, you can! If it is made and placed in a container with a sealable lid, it can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days before consumption.
