How to make Turkish Japanese sugar cookies
Prepare. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
Dough. Add butter, cream cheese, sugar, eggs, and almonds to a large bowl. Use a hand blender or kitchen utensils to mix them together until they become fluffy. In a separate bowl, sift together the dry ingredients-flour, baking powder and salt. After mixing, the dry ingredients are added to the sugar mixture. Mix until a soft dough is formed.
Scroll and shape. Roll out the dough. Thin dough will make the biscuits crisper. For softer cookies, roll the dough to about 38°. Inches thick. Cut the dough with a cookie cutter. Note: Try not to process too much dough
bake. Place the cut biscuits on the greased baking tray. Bake for 8-10 minutes. calm down.
frost. Add butter, powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and almonds to a mixing bowl to make frosting. Use a hand blender to mix.
Decorate. Sprinkle icing sugar on the biscuits and sprinkle with brown icing sugar. Decorate each cookie by adding a Reese’s in the middle, and put candy corn around the top of Reese’s. Use icing sugar and pipe on orange frosted feet to add candy eyeballs.
Cookies tips:
- Before mixing, let the butter and cream cheese soften slightly. They will be easier to mix together. Be careful not to soften them too much or the biscuits will be too greasy.
- Don’t overmix: this is especially important for sugar cookies, as you will further process the dough as you roll it out. When you add the dry ingredients, mix until it is just added.
- Measure the ingredients correctly: If you find that your dough is too dry to stick together, then sprinkle some water on the dough and knead it until it sticks together. On the other hand, if your dough is too sticky to roll, sprinkle some flour and knead it.
- Cool the dough: Let the taste and texture solidify, making it easier to roll and cut.
- Don’t let sugar cookies brown in the oven. Pull them out as they solidify and let them cool on the baking sheet. The heat in the pot will cook them further before they start to cool.
- frost: Make sure the butter is softened so that the frosting can mix faster and smoother. Depending on your preference for frosting, use milk to dilute it or use powdered sugar to thicken it. Before adding frosting to your cookies, leave some orange frosting. This will be used to drain the turkey feet.

Holiday preparation + storage
Advance time: You can store sugar cookie dough in the refrigerator for 4-5 days. Be sure to wrap it in plastic wrap first. To further extend the storage time, you need to wrap it in foil again and store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 months.
Store: Store sugar biscuits in an airtight container at room temperature for 4-5 days. Be careful when stacking frosted sugar cookies and separating layers with wax paper. You can also put a piece of white bread in the container to help them stay softer for a longer period of time.
refrigerator: Undecorated biscuits are more durable than biscuits with turkey decoration, but both can be stored in the refrigerator. Decorated biscuits need to be packaged separately, otherwise they are separated and layered with wax paper, and then placed in a freezer-safe storage container. Freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw before eating.
