Homemade Butter Mint Recipe Only 5 ingredients!
With just five ingredients, you can make sweet and delicious homemade butter mints. They are perfect for any party and are great gifts!

Homemade Butter Mints
If you have ever eaten cream mint at a wedding or after a meal in a restaurant, you will know that they just melt in your mouth. Am i right? !
Well, this homemade version is more creamy! They will dissolve into a pool of melted mint incense within a few seconds. They are perfect for showers, parties or just to take them with you!
Homemade butter mint needs to dry for at least 24 hours, so plan ahead. If your house is the same as mine, you must hide them during the drying process, otherwise they will all disappear!
How to make butter mints
hit. Put soft butter, cream, salt, peppermint oil, and Ÿ cup of powdered sugar in the bowl of the kitchen utensils. Beat until smooth and creamy, scraping the sides of the bowl several times.
(notes: The peppermint oil used here is the kind you find on Baking Island-not an essential oil. )
Gradually add the remaining powdered sugar, often scraping the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula. If necessary, add food coloring. Beat for 2-3 minutes until soft and fluffy.
Scrape the mixture to the bottom of the bowl, then press the plastic wrap tightly on the surface.
Cooling and cutting. Let cool for at least an hour, or until strong enough to handle. Divide into 5-6 parts. Sprinkle powdered sugar on the counter, then roll each part into a rope about 1/2 inch thick.
Use a dough scraper, sharp knife, or pizza cutter to cut each rope into pieces about 1/2 inch long.
dry. Place each mint on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Let us sit for 24-48 hours at room temperature to dry out.
Even after drying, they will not be as hard as commercial butter mints. Their soft middle makes them so deliciously creamy and irresistible!
How to store + frozen butter mint
How to store butter mint: Store them in a container to avoid crushing. They will be stored at room temperature for a few weeks or in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
Can you freeze butter mint? Yes-you can freeze mints in airtight containers or heavy freezer bags for up to 2 months.
But trust us-these will not last long in your home. đ

- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon cream
- 1 pinch salt
- 5-6 drops peppermint oil
- 3 3/4 cups powdered sugar
- 2-3 drops of food coloring, optional

Whisk the butter, cream, salt, peppermint oil, and Ÿ cup of powdered sugar in Kitchenaid until it is very smooth and creamy.

Slowly add the remaining powdered sugar, scraping the edges of the bowl frequently. If necessary, add food coloring. Beat for 2-4 minutes, or until smooth and fluffy.

Scrape all the mixture into a mound and cover it tightly with plastic wrap. Let cool for at least one hour.

When the mixture is strong enough to handle, divide it into 5 or 6 pieces. To form mints, sprinkle a large amount of powdered sugar on the counter. Roll each piece into a rope about 1/2 inch thick.

Use a dough spatula to cut each string into approximately 1/2″ long pillow-shaped pieces. Place each mint on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Let the mint dry at room temperature for at least 12 hours.
