quick and easy dinner
There are several recipes I remember, I remember ALL.THE.TIME as a kid. One of them happens to be this Beef Stroganoff recipe pictured above.
This is a dinner recipe that our family has been eating, modified for the meat my mom uses. Sometimes she’ll have a roast, a hamburger, or a steak. It’s different every time, but we love it every time!
It’s a great kid-friendly recipe and a hit because it’s basically a delicious sauce, meat, and pasta…and we all know you can’t go wrong with the ingredients. đ Am I right? !
If you’re like me, always looking for easy and delicious recipes that the whole family will love, then I recommend trying this stroganoff recipe. It’s delicious and will definitely be the family’s new recipe!
How to make beef salad:
We love how easy this recipe is to simmer in a crock pot. Yes, you need to make the noodles before serving, but it’s easy and anyone can do it. Here are the ingredients you need…
Ingredients:
- rapeseed oil
- Meat â roast, brisket, burger (meat of your choice)
- flour
- beef soup
- sour cream
- Egg noodles (we like to use egg noodles because those are standard stroganoff noodles, but anything works).
- salt and pepper
Once you’ve gathered the ingredients, just follow these easy steps to make this slow cookerâŠ
brown meat. Add oil to a frying pan over medium-high heat. Toss meat with flour, salt and pepper. Brown meat in hot oil, about 2 minutes per side.
Add the meat and beef broth to the crock pot and cook on low for 3-4 hours, stirring occasionally.
Noodle. Cook egg noodles according to package directions.
Sauce. Add sour cream to the meat mixture and mix just before serving. Add the noodles to the mixture, then mix in the gravy or place on a bed of noodles. Garnish with parsley if desired.
We love stroganoff sauce recipes made with these ingredients. It’s creamy and delicious!
Can this stroganoff be made on the stove? Of course – just cook the meat and broth in a large pot for 30 minutes. Add sour cream and cooked noodles before serving.
Why add sour cream at the end? Sour cream contains natural acids that cause milk proteins to curdle more quickly when heated. You can prevent this by adding sour cream at the end.
Changes and Storage Tips
While this dish is delicious, sometimes it’s nice to change it up a bit. Try some of these ideas:
- Saute the mushrooms and onions with the meat until fragrant, then add it to the crock pot
- Serve over rice or mashed potatoes
- Garnish with chives and parsley
As mentioned above, we also changed the meat used in this dish – sometimes a hamburger, sometimes a roast. We also love making our Chicken Salad Dressing recipe and it’s delicious too!
How to store and reheat stroganoff leftovers:
- Refrigerator: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
- Refrigerator: Store in an airtight freezer-safe container for up to 3 months.
- Reheat: If frozen, thaw overnight. Reheat in a saucepan, stove top, or microwave.
