Terrace Party and Patriotic Drinks Layered + Fun
This layered patriotic drink is pure magic! It’s not hard to make, just requires a Hawaiian punch, blue Gatorade, and zero sprites.
I was skeptical at first, but this patriotic drink did not disappoint! Stay patriotic with the Fourth of July Crispy Rice Krispies, Red White and Blue Sponge Cake, and Red, White, and Blue Bark! ! Great for outdoor entertaining.
Have you seen these layered drinks?
I’ve seen them all over the internet and knew I had to try them myself! ! They look like magic and I must admit I am a little skeptical.
The whole concept is that you can layer the drink based on the sugar content of each layer. So, you start with the most sugary drink and put it at the bottom. I use a Hawaiian punch. Then I used the G2 Blue Gatorade and then the Sprite zero on top. The whole trick is to add ice as you go. So you add ice and slowly drink the bottom over the ice. Then add more ice, then slowly add the next drink to the ice, and so on. It works like a charm and looks cool! ! !
These are perfect for celebrations and can be adjusted with different drink flavors and colors for a cool drink any time of year!
Hawaiian Punch – Most Sugar, G2 Blue – Next Least Sugar, Sprite Zero – No Sugar
Make Layered Patriotic Drinks
Prepare. Gather medium or large mugs or glasses (we use large mason jars).
fruit juice. In each glass, add a handful of ice cubes, then pour in a juice drink (highest in sugar) to fill the glass â…“ way.
Gatorade. Add another handful of ice and pour in blue Gatorade (less sugar) until glass is 2/3 full.
Sprite. Add the last handful of ice and pour in Sprite Zero (sugar free) until the glass is full. Beverages will remain stratified based on sugar content.
Enjoy while cold!
Recipe Tips
One idea I thought might be interesting is to freeze each drink into ice cubes before assembling this drink.
- Frozen Fruit Punch Blocks
- Frozen Gatorade Cubes
- Freeze the sprite cube or just use ice cubes.
Make the drink as written in the recipe, except using the punch cube. Not only do the colored cubes help make each layer more colorful, but they continue to add flavor as they melt. Regular water ice cubes just water down the drink as it melts.

This weekend was the best ever! ! ! !
I celebrated my 30th birthday and had the best time. My hubby and I spend most of our time together for breakfast, watching the Avengers (so good!), having lunch with my family, then going to the mall and some other stores (thanks a lot to my MIL for watching the kids !!). Then we spent an evening at a house party for my cousin’s daughter who had the same birthday. The kids had a great time! ! What more do I want? !
One of the stores we were able to stop by was at Kmart. There we were able to landscaping our patio and buy a new set of patios, grills and picnic tables for the kids. It’s almost an early Father’s Day gift for Lo, although it’s a bit of an early Father’s Day gift for me too – haha! ! Let’s say I love the patio, my husband loves the grill, and the kids love the picnic table. There is something for everyone in the family!

We decided to have a pre-Father’s Day carnival with our little family and my mom and dad!
Check out the fun! !
They don’t have rockers or twins in this store so I’m going to add them to the set online! ! don’t you love it! ! !
So retro! !
My Evie is kicking off! can you tell? ! Worship her!
I love her crooked smile!
Dad shares his layered pudding dessert (recipe coming out later this week) – Grandma shares hers too!
