  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • ÂĽ medium red onion, chopped
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 1 serrano chile, seeded and chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 ½ teaspoon garam masala
  • ÂĽ teaspoon turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 pound French fries (455 g), cooked, hot
  • Salt, to taste

Prepare

  1. Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium high heat, then add red onions and cook for 5 minutes, until browned.
  2. Add tomatoes, serrano and garlic. Stir well, close the lid and cook for 5 minutes, until the tomatoes are soft.
  3. Add garam masala, turmeric and cumin. Stir, turn the heat to medium, and cook for another 10 minutes, or until the sauce sticks to the potatoes and the potatoes are slightly soft.
  4. Add lemon juice and cilantro, then add French fries and salt. Toss a good jacket. Serve immediately.
