How to freeze + reheat pancakes
Frozen pancakes are my favorite mom hack. Make a large batch, throw them in the refrigerator, and you can enjoy a simple breakfast on a busy morning!
You can freeze any type of pancakes! Buttermilk, chocolate chips, and even Funfetti-all types of pancakes do well in the refrigerator. This is how you do it!
Can you freeze pancakes?
Yes, yes, you can! Most pancakes can be frozen for 1-2 months. Isn’t it amazing? !
In so many busy families, Saturday and Sunday mean time for a hot breakfast, and pancakes often appear on the menu. Next time you make a batch, I recommend doubling it, freezing the excess and heating it up on a busy morning.
I can’t think of any pancakes that can’t be frozen. Of course, our preferred type of freezing is our simple pancake no-failure recipe. Some other pancakes have a glaze or syrup that matches the recipe, in this case I will store the glaze separately.
How to freeze them
After making the pancakes, let them cool and Ready to freeze. You can use the following methods:
- Place each pancake in a separate folded top sandwich bag.
- Stack the pancakes with parchment paper, separating each layer.
- Quick freezing pancakes: Place the cooled pancakes in a single layer on the baking tray. Freeze for 1-2 hours, or until frozen.
After preparing the pancakes, Place them in an airtight, freezer-safe container. Some options include:
- Frozen ziplock bag
- Empty bread bag
- Tupperware
Reheating + side ideas
If you are going Reheat a few more times For pancakes, you can use a microwave, toaster or frying pan to heat them.
if you need Reheat a few, I recommend using an oven. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Place the pancakes in a single layer on the baking sheet and cover with foil. Bake for about 10 minutes, or until hot.
