Prepare
- Heat a grill or campfire to medium heat
- Cut the baguette in half lengthwise, leaving a long edge, like a hot dog bun.
- Open the bread and spread mustard liberally on both sides. Spread the Swiss cheese slices on both sides of the bread. Arrange the pickles on top of the Swiss slices in the bottom half of the bread. Layer the ham slices, pull the pork over the pickles, and gently lift the top of the bun to close the sandwich. Double wrap sandwiches with aluminum foil.
- Place sandwiches on the grill over medium heat. Put a cast iron or other heavy-duty pan on top and press down. Cook the sandwich for 5 minutes, then flip and cook for another 5 minutes, until the outside of the bread is crispy and the cheese is melted.
- Let the sandwiches cool for a few minutes, then carefully unpack. Slice and serve.
- enjoy!
