Our favorite chocolate cake recipe. It is simple, moist, delicious, and versatile, making it our party dessert-the perfect match for ice cream.
This is the home party dessert we need most! This classic cake piece is simple, moist and covered with irresistible frosting, making it perfect for vacations, barbecues and parties.
The best cake ever
I think it’s hard not to like cakes. It’s so delicious… Today’s recipe is probably the most addictive dessert of any dessert I have ever made. It’s true-this Texas chocolate cake is the best ever, and it’s easy (and be sure to check out our white paper cake recipe).
If you don’t believe me, try it. I promise it will not disappoint. We got this recipe from a family friend a few years ago and it quickly became a favorite.
This particular cake has been made a lot, so it has become a staple of parties and birthday parties (the word Texas is very important). đWe will change the sprinkler according to the occasion, usually with different types of ice cream. If you like chopped pecans, you can add these too!
To be honest, I can’t put this cake in my house because I will really eat the whole pot. It is so soft, so delicious, so addictive! !
How to make crepes:
Although this cake is made in a jelly roll pan and made with classic food ingredients, we have omitted the classic pecans from the Texas pancake recipe.
If you like pecans, can you add pecans? Of course! ! With so many children in our family, sprinkles often get better responses than nuts. But as I mentioned, we often have all these ingredients on hand, which means we are always doing this!
To make this cake, mix flour, sugar, Hershey’s cocoa powder, baking soda and salt. Add eggs, oil, buttermilk and hot water and stir well.
Pour it into a greased jelly roll or 11Ă15 baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
While the cake is still hot, mix butter, cocoa, milk, vanilla, and powdered sugar in a small pot to make frosting. Heat and stir until the butter is melted and there are no more lumps. Pour on the hot cake and sprinkle something immediately before frosting.
Can you add nuts? Of course! Most classic Texas cake recipes have chopped pecans in the frosting. Our kids happen to prefer sprinkling water, so that’s why we use them. đ
Buttermilk substitute
This recipe requires buttermilk, but this is an ingredient that many people donât always have on hand. Although nothing really tastes like buttermilk, there are many buttermilk substitutes that you can use in your recipes.
- sour milk
- Add 1 tablespoon of white vinegar or lemon juice to the measuring cup, and then add enough milk until 1 cup is measured. Stir and let stand for five minutes before using.
- Watered down yogurt
- Add a little milk or water to regular unsweetened yogurt until you get a consistency similar to buttermilk (usually about Πof liquid and ٠cup of yogurt).
- Light cream
- Stir together equal parts of sour cream and water. This hack is particularly good in Pancakes.
- Tartar powder and milk cream
- Stir 1 Ÿ teaspoon of cream of tartar into a glass of milk.
Although this cake may be the demise of any diet or healthy diet I tried to accomplish, it is also my deception! I really donât think you can find a softer or more delicious cake than this!
How to store + FREEZE cake slices?
storeIf stored properly, this means that the cake slices can be kept on the counter for up to 3 days if they are tightly covered or placed in an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
freezing. You can freeze the cake slices, but we recommend not to frost them. Wrap the cake with aluminum foil, making sure that no cake is exposed. Be sure to slowly roll up the aluminum foil seams and press all the ends together to maintain its freshness, and then put it in the refrigerator for up to 2 months.
We like to have friends and family over, and we usually use our crepes to feed so many people. This is definitely one of our favorites, but be sure to check the rest of the cakes on the website. They are all delicious and can feed a large group of people.
