This homemade Gak recipe is sure to make kids happy for hours! ! Slimy slime is completely squashable, making it is half the fun.

Our family likes to play this slime very much, and we even made a sparkling version! You can also turn it into a cheap but cute gift. For the tutorial go here!

Entertain the kids for hours!

It’s summer in Arizona, the weather gets very hot, and the kids are not so excited when they play outside, so I think it’s fun to make homemade Gak-aka slime (this is something I always make with my stuff ) Cousin has grown up! )

It’s very simple to make, it actually only takes 2 minutes, but hours have been provided (I’m not even kidding!), hours of entertainment! Every day, for a week, children play this gak for at least one hour a day.

I took out the plastic cookie cutter, and they went to town, guess what? ! I like it! There is hardly any mess! The following is how you can also make DIY Slime/Gak!

Ingredient tips:

  • glue: Just use the classic white Elmer school glue. nothing special! Closing the brand will work well.
  • Borax: Sometimes stores don’t always sell borax. You can order on Amazon or Walmart.com! One box can be used for a long time.
  • Food coloring: Gel food coloring is definitely better than ordinary liquid food coloring! I bought Betty Crocker Neon Gel Food Colors and they used FAB! ! The neon lights make it look great, but I ended up squeezing almost half of the tube into the mixture because I wanted it to be very bright.

How to make Gak:

Prepare. Collect all your supplies together.

Glue + water. First pour two bottles of glue into the bowl. Then, fill the bottle with warm water and shake it. Pour into a bowl.

color. Add some food coloring to a bowl of glue and water, and set aside. **

Borax. Fill the plastic cup with œ cup of warm water. Add 1 teaspoon. Pour the borax into a glass of water and stir until the borax is dissolved. Then, pour it into a plastic bowl and start mixing. You will notice how it starts to become sticky. Continue to stir and squeeze the mixture by hand. After a few minutes, it will become very gelatinous.

Play! Let the kids play for a while and it will become the perfect GOOEY consistency!

Storage skills

Store the gak in an airtight container or zipper bag. It should last at least a few weeks, but by then it may start to smell.

Gak related events

Not only can children enjoy the fun of pulling, kneading and squeezing gak, they can also use it for the following activities:

  • Try to form/sculpt shapes
  • Use cookie cutter to cut gak into shapes and figures
  • Cut with scissors
  • Divide it into multiple parts and practice addition and subtraction
  • Imprint the gak with plastic bugs, shells, beads and other objects

Precautions

Although homemade gak is a very easy activity for kids to create themselves (my kids 10 years and older have no problem making all of this by themselves), I will be careful with younger children who might try to eat gak.

The borax contained in the formula is a soap used for laundry and is toxic if ingested. Therefore, watch out for children who might try to eat mucus!

So fun, so simple! ! This is really the best homemade craft/project I have done with my kids in a long time. It will not smell like other viscous substances and up and down the whole body. It is fun to play! Plus, it’s super cheap to make!

Must like cheap entertainment! 😉
